Shrinkinqtpi replied to Sumaire's topic in Insurance & Financing
@@2goldengirl Thank you for your insight into the world behind the scenes of the insurance company. My father-in-law is a registered nurse who now works as a manager for an insurance company. It is a tough business to be in. You are appreciated. -
Ok who is currently on a preop diet?!

@@tagyourit There are soups available through the bariatricpal store that are highly recommended by my nutritionist. High in protein. Low in salt and carbs. Salty is out there for you during the preop diet. -
Fun ideas for celebrating "surgiversary"?
Shrinkinqtpi replied to CharlotteKat's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
@@grandmaofone Massage is a great idea! Shopping is always good. It might be fun to look around for something new to do in honor of the new you. Short flight somewhere? Boat ride? Amusement park?! I would love to find a roller coaster or other fun ride when I feel safe in the safety gear. Bumper cars? Dune Buggies? It really depends on what you are near! -
Hurrying up to wait. I met all of the requirements established when I started the process of getting approval for bypass and the insurance company moved the target. Wish me luck as I submit complaints and request clarification.

keep the faith. The insurance companies torture us before hand but they eventually come around.

Thank you everyone. Thursday next week should shed some light on the next steps whenever they get to start. I have faith and am gaining peace by the moment. It is awesome having compatriots here for support and kind words of wisdom.

Just learned that my reassessment has been bumped to Thursday next week AND that AETNA decided this week to mandate another month of dietitian visits for all incoming patients. Looks like I am waiting again. School starts for me the second week of August with teacher in-service and training. The time crunch is going to be a challenge.

@@MozzaWehsha Listen to your doctors and nutritionists. They know the process and the ladies and gentlemen on this forum have great ideas. Remember there are other paths to health as well. Rosemary essential can be added to your routine through conditioner or direct rubbing in your hair and scalp. It works for some to thicken hair and improve skin along with nails. I am battling now with prevention plans before surgery researching everything possible to maintain health through the transformation process. Look into essential oils - they really work!

@@laurarogersclark It is amazing that you have dropped so low. I am glad you did not just stay the path and keep losing. I am 42 and 340 at 5'6". At this point I anticipate an end weight around 130-150 but will take it one day at a time and listen to my body. How have you taken care of yourself now that you are figuring out how to stop losing?
