  1. I'm the culprit, I'm 11 days out and just really started moving around ok today. The pain was excruciating!!! I went to my first post op appt and the surgeon stated that I had a large stomach so when they removed it they had to stretch my stitches tighter??? I also had an hiatal hernia repair done. I could not lay flat, and any movement that required the use of stomach muscles was unbearable. He gave me more pain meds and asked that I rest until today. He was right, because last night I was able to sleep in my bed. Today I am up walking around! I'm hoping that I will be able to drive today. I have been walking all over the house this morning with very little pain. Thank God!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  3. I am planning to go get a pedicure and manicure spa tomorrow. I have not drove yet because of medications but I don't want to spend another weekend in this chair. I plan to sleep in my bed tomorrow if all goes well. I'm still in the recliner. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Getting frustrated

I strained chicken noodle soup today. It was so good. I found that the tomato soup gave me indigestion. Perhaps because of the hiatal hernia. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  6. @skinny_knees" I am doing better today aside from the gas. I have the same burning/tingling sensation. The surgeon said that is was from the stitches that are on the inside. It's very sensitive but is getting better. I put the surgical band back on today. When I'm not wearing it, it feels like my stomach is dangling....the pain meds help with it. I'm also trying Miralax tonight. How are you? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  7. Sad, but I have this reaction from some co workers as well. I view it as a life saving/changing decision as well. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  8. @KristenLe. I have decided to take 4 weeks and then go back 1/2 days for the 5th week of possible. This is just a plan, because honestly if I don't feel up to PAR on week 5 I am going to take another 4 weeks off. I went through too much to get here and want to make sure I give my body enough time to heal. I don't know what I was thinking before. My job will be there. 9. Thanks so much for this post. It really made me feel as though there is light at the end of the tunnel. I still have pain today, but they switched my pain meds to Percocet. They actually seem to work better than the hydrocodone. I think it's interesting that I had an hiatal hernia as well. I am wondering if that actually contributes to more pain and discomfort. Getting frustrated

I went to my first follow up appt yesterday and expressed the same aggregations to my surgeon. He suggested the microwavable potato flakes in the small cups. Instead of adding Water, I added broth. They were delish, and a few bites satisfied my hunger. I was worried about the carbs, but what I found was that after two bites I was full. It goes down very easy. So I ate that for dinner, woke up had a Protein shake. For lunch I had two bites, now I am waiting a few hours to drink another Protein Shake. Goodwill`shopping

Wow. This post was really helpful. I love this site and really enjoy reading all of the wonderful post. I have never shopped at a goodwill, but it will be first on my list when I can drive. I'm 8 days post op, but I have to wear a suit to work 4 days a week. This was really helpful. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  12. Same here, I just didn't expect to use the entire time. Oh well, it is what it is. Thanks for sharing. My HW was 250, pre op was 238, current wait 229. So I know the surgery is working. Just have to stay positive. Thanks again Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  13. I am 7 days post op today as well. I can get up from sitting, but there is excruciating pain on my right side when I do as if I'm stretching something. I am hoping that this week will get better. How long are you planning on being out of work? I have no one doing my job while I'm out so its stressful to think about my return as well. 14. Hi everyone, I landed myself in the ER on Saturday because I could no longer stand the pain. I feel it's only fair for me to mention that I never take pain meds, but this surgery has forced me to think differently. Per the ER doc my incision and sleeve look fine but I did have a urinary tract infection. Which I'm told is pretty painful, but my pain continues to come from my lower right side (where they pulled my stomach out). I am reading all of the comments where people are getting off their pain meds, but honestly I can't function without them. It is the only way that I can walk, take a shower, or even sit on the toilet. I am very concerned, because as I said normally I can push through pain. It has not been the case with this procedure. Today, I spent most of my time regretting my decision. I don't feel like I' going to be able to go back to work next week. I cannot walk without being on pain meds. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this? And if anyone has been out of work 4 weeks for recovery? I feel I need more time.....and my thoughts were originally to stay out one week. 15. I worried with the same thing. My first instinct was to get it braided up. I didn't now wishing like crazy I had. I can't do anything with my hair. It hurts to lift my arms over my head. I have been wearing a hair wrap. My advice would be to get two braids on your hair. 6 days post op Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  16. Thanks, I feel I should also mention that I have a lot of stomach fat. So I'm sure that has some bearings on it as well. Just wondering how long it's going to take for my stomach to heal. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  20. I was sleeved on Monday and feeling the same. I was actually thinking about calling surgeon today because I had not seen this in post. I am very sore on my right side, but it does not hurt unless I move around. Eating and drinking does not bother me at all. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  22. I am having surgery Monday and the anxiety is unreal. I'm so hungry!!! I want to eat a steak so bad!! I keep staring at Ninja wondering what I can put in it! Lol!! I want to eat some food, but I already slipped up and ate a piece of turkey breast. The idea of drainage tubes coming out of my body seems so painful right now. 24. Hi all, I'm about 12 hours out and so far everything has been great. No gas pains, just a little discomfort from the drain. I am not allowed to have any liquids until tomorrow morning. I was allowed to have a sponge with a little Water on it to rinse my mouth. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
