Hey guys so I'm just about done with my 6 months guided weight loss with my pcp for insurance and then I'll get to have my first meeting with my surgeon. The only thing I have to do is insurance approval(which the surgeons office will handle) and seeing the nutritionist after I meet the surgeon. My question is how long after your first meeting with the surgeon did it take to find out ur surgery date? My last pcp app is June 30th, and my 29th birthday is July 26th. I want to go horse back riding again, haven't been since I was 19. Last time I tried I couldn't pull myself up in the saddle anymore and due to my weight it kept sliding down the side of the horse dispite the straps Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using the BariatricPal App

Here is a list of what is required by bcbs in my state (tn) not sure if it's the same or different in other states. But once most of those are completed you then get to meet ur surgeon and see the dietician. So 6 months with ur pcp and then however long after that if it takes you longer to do what else is on the list, seeing the therapist and getting records together. Yeah I'm definitely not looking forward to the pre op liquid diet. My mom had to do it for two weeks, she said the first 3 days are the worst. How long will you have to do the diet? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using the BariatricPal App

Hey guys, so I'm new! I'm kayla and I'll be 29 in July. So June is my final month with my PCP for the 6 months of guided weight loss before insurance will let me see the surgeon. My highest weight has been 380, the lowest I was able to get was 363. Which was for my 5th month visit. At the same time I was put on non weight bearing status for 2 stress fractures in my left foot and was put in a boot. So after not being able to walk for 6 wks I've gained 10lbs back. I have 20 days till my last app with my PCP,I'm becoming increasingly anxious wondering if the Dr will still do the surgery. I know its not going to do me any good to worry but I still can't keep from it. I wasn't told I had to lose a certain percent or set number of pounds. Ive included a pic of the list of requirements and things to do in order to qualify for the surgery. Thanks for letting me vent I look forward to getting to know y'all !

Hey so I'll be 29 end of July. I'm 5'4" with a bmi of 65.2. I'm hoping to go in for surgery on or near my bday, I can't think of a better way to Celebrate 30 next yr than with a new me! I was wondering if you or anyone else was told they had to lose a certain % of weight or # of pounds before they would do surgery? Look forward to hearing more from you
