I would ask ur surgeon if ur allowed to have them, most hospitals don't allow outside medications. Walking is a huge help when relieving built up pressure... I burped all the way around the hallways... Was kind of funny lol. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

So my surgery date is 6/29.. My surgeons office calls me last Thursday and informs me they need a letter from my PCP stating I'm healthy enough for surgery, kind of last minute but ok I call my PCP. Then she doesn't want to write it because I need new labs and a chest X-ray... Fine, I get them same day and have an apt with her PA the next morning at 9am.. My PCP I was told would be out of office till today..6/26. I call today to check up on them and she is not in office again.. If they don't get that letter there tomorrow, signed by the doctor, I will have to reschedule and I've already done all but one day of my liquid diet... I don't like when things are out of my control, when I've done all I can to make sure everyone has everything. I'm sorry, I'm just so frustrated. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

The PA can't give the clearance they have to be over signed by a physician and there's no one on call for her,she doesn't do rounds and she doesn't take call... So no luck there. I've Ben talking with the office since Thursday of last week when I had to hurry and get a chest X-ray, Cbc, bmp, and a protime INR. I had an appt with the PA Friday morning.. It's pretty much hopeless if she doesn't come to work like she is supposed to tomorrow. I did however fax my surgeon the X-ray and lab results in hopes it will suffice if they don't get the letter in. Unfortunately my surgeon is an hour and a half away with no time to go in... It's all in at this point... Just need lots of prayers or positive thoughts... Lots of fingers crossed Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

No I do chewable my surgeon. Actually doesn't want me to do anything but a chewable, he stated gummies don't absorb as well after surgery, but every surgeon is different. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Starting pre op diet today... Per day can have up to 3 servings of protein shakes, and up to 6 servings of eggs, low fat cheese, Greek yogurt, sugar free pudding and as much sugar free jello & sugar free Popsicles and drinks. Before having gastric bypass what are some of the foods you had to have just one last time? My surgery is scheduled the 29th of this month so I will start the liver shrinking diet next week.. I have a few friends that have had surgery there through the bariatric and metabolic institute and have had great success... If anyone is ever looking for a great practice, this is it! Got a call today from my surgeon's office...I've been bumped up from the 17th to the 16th....WOW, really getting real! Looks like it's clears tomorrow for me. Only thing I'm allowed next week is eggs, cottage cheese, sugar free jello and Popsicles, protein drinks with skim milk, protein infused soups with no chunks, apple sauce, carnation instant breakfast, cream of wheat, sugar free pudding and reduced fat string cheese the of course clear liquids day before... I'm grateful for the diet and I'm sure it'll help with the cravings and appetite after, it's just drastic lol.
