3cc's for first fill... is this normal?

Thank you everyone for putting my mind at ease. I had read so much about .5-2CC fills, that I thought 3CCs might be too much at first. But, so far so good. Good luck to everyone! Thanks again.
  2. I just had my first fill on Wednesday. I asked the Doc what size band I have & how much of a fill I'd receive. He said I have a 10cc band and he gave me a 3cc fill. Is that normal for a first fill? I feel a little nausea - stomach rumbling, trouble burping - but other than that liquids are going down fine (although, I'm taking it very slow). Thanks for your feedback. :cursing:

    Hypothyroid

Just banded 2/29 & I also have Hashi's. My LB doc stated "everyone is different...so you might be able to stop taking meds, or you might not." (Nice, huh?) For the last 3 years, I've been taking Levoxyl every morning - my Primary doc requests that I keep taking it, but also that I have blood tested every three months, to see if the dosage can be lowered. Best to get blood work done regularly (like the previous response)... Good luck to you!
  4. I'm so glad this site is here. Not only to voice our issues, but to get advice and hear other's personal experiences. Thank you! :tongue2: I actually made an appt w/ the doc this morning. He confirmed the port is correctly in place (next to the largest incision) and that it still needs healing. (duh!) LOL He didn't know what the pain issues were w/ my belly (near bellybutton), but suspected the surrounding tissue also was "healing".... All-in-all, I got the A-OK. Hooray!
  5. Weird... the pain I'm having (when sitting & driving) is on my left side - to the left of my bellybutton. But my largest incision (where I'm feeling hardness) is above my bellybutton, in the mid-ab area. Umm... ports are supposed to be lower on the body, right? Maybe I should contact my Doc again and find out exactly what's going on?! Yikes...
  6. Banded on 2/29 - I also have pain in the port area - when sitting (doesn't matter if I'm wearing stretch pants or jeans) - it is sooo uncomfortable... especially when driving. Doctor said everything looked fine, just put some heat on it and give it another week or so. I'm also noticing hardness above the largest incision - is this just "healing" or did I maybe strain the area? It's tough tieing shoes and such... I'm trying to take it as easy as I can. Thanks all! P.S. dejageel - Congrats on being banded!

Lap Band during that Time of the Month?

Actually, YES... you can have the LapBand surgery during your "time of the month." I'll be banded on Friday (and happen to be "on it" this week) and the doctor said to just wear a tampon. He stated no maxipads are allowed - due to the fact that during surgery you cannot wear underwear. Hope that helps answer your question! :smile2:
