I totally agree, as I am sitting here watching 'Farewell to a Legend" on tv. Packer games won't be the same, but I will still cheer them on!!

I could just cry! I rec'd word today that our insurance does not cover ANY bariatric surgeries. I talked to the head of our personel dept and she stated that we are a fully funded group (union and negotiated terms of insurance) If we were an idividually funded group, there would be a possibility of exceptions to the denial. Has anyone ever dealt with a full funded insurance plan before and how did you get them to approve your banding? I have BC/BS -Anthem (Wisconsin) We have new insurace since AUgust and our old insurance covered the surgery 100% but now they won't cover a dime!! Any suggestions??:glare:

this may sound crazy, but what is a 'fill'? How often do these happen and why? :confused2:

I made the first appt for the consult for banding. This was a HUGE step for me as I was always so ashamed of my weight and not being able to control it. I have my first apt on March 7.....can't wait but still scared to death too. The first half of my life I have been heavy....so here's to my second half of my life!!

My best friend keeps telling me to just try and loose weight with my own determination. She lost 80+ pounds over the past two years but she has several illnesses and sees doctors weekly. She can't eat due to pain. How can I convince her that I want to loose weight but I am not able to on diets. I have tried 9 different approaches, only to gain more weight back! I just need the support to go ahead with this life changing process... please help!

I gather that it is an individual process of what is tolerated and what is not. I come from Wisconsin and brats are to me as rice is to the south. As long as a bite is acceptable to me, I guess I am content with that

Holy cow! I have an appt with Dr K in two weeks! It is SO good to see others from NE WI out here! It is also great to hear how happy you are with him. Look forward in staying in touch with you

Hi fellow cheesehead! I am way farther than the others here as I am 40 miles south of Green Bay along Lake Michigan. I have an appt in GB in two weeks so I will know more then. Enjoy your Jo with Margo!!

Confused & a Little Scared

It is easy for those to say 'just exercise more' If we could, we would!! Sometimes we need to take our own path and do what is right for YOU! Good luck....I hope to be making these decisions in the very near future too
