I Am About To Make A Year And I Feel Like A Failure
angeliquita posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey guys, I had my surgery on June 22, 2016 and I used to be 250 pounds. I am now 185 pounds, meaning that I only lost 65 pounds. My goal weight is 150 but I feel like I should have reached that a while ago. Should I go in for additional surgery? Should I diet and exercise even harder? If anyone has any advice or can relate, please let me know. -
I Am About To Make A Year And I Feel Like A Failure

Thank you guys! My diet is decent and I exercise often, but perhaps its a mental thing too because I really do not like where I'm at so its affecting how I feel about my progress. -
Hello, I underwent gastric bypass surgery on June 22, 2016 and have lost 77 pounds so far. My highest weight was 250 pounds and my goal weight is 150. I am currently 173 but it has been so difficult to lose the last 23 pounds. I knew the weight loss was going to slow down but I did not know it would happen this early in the game. I noticed that I could eat more than I did in the beginning and it scares me; in fact it scares me so much that I have been thinking about doing the surgery again. It also does not help that I have an aunt who had gastric sleeve and shows off that she is now 130 by criticizing me. What should I do? I feel like a failure and it is so hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Last Leg of the Journey
angeliquita replied to angeliquita's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
To be honest, I'm not sticking strictly to my plan so I will be more accountable from now on. I'm thinking about going back to my liquid diet for a month or so. Congrats on your weight loss! -
Hey guys, I had gastric bypass surgery on June 20, 2016. Even though the road has not always been easy, I am so grateful to my surgeon and my family for being there for me when I decided to change my life. I lost 61 pounds so far and am 49 pounds away from my goal weight. However, I want to shine a light on some non scale victories that motivated me to keep going. I went from a size 1X-XL to a size L and am super close to being a size M. My skin is clearing up (I barely get acne and the dark spots are fading). I feel more confident, more healthy, more energetic, and most importantly, happier. What are your NSVs?

Hey guys, I had gastric bypass on June 20, 2016 and next week (on Monday), I will be 3 months out. I started my weight loss journey at 250 pounds and am currently 189 pounds. In the first month, I was shedding weight so quickly and beautifully. In the second month, my weight loss slowed but not enough to panic. Shortly after, I stalled for a week, lost a little bit, and then stalled again. I drink a lot of Water and make sure to prioritize Protein in my meals. Is this normal? If so, how long does it usually last? How can I break out of it? I feel like I am a failure and the weight loss goal I had of 140 pounds is no longer in my reach. Please help! Thanks in advance!

It has been a while since I have last seen my nutritionist... I am going to look into it. Congrats on reaching your goal weight! I am so happy for you!

Yes, I really needed this info! I will look into it! Thank you so much!

Thank you so much and yes, I will change up my workout routine. To be honest, my workout to this point has been power walking so maybe my body is telling me to go a little harder.

The straw that broke the camel's back
angeliquita replied to Autumn Riley Arnold's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 21 years old and have been fat all my life. What broke the camel's back was when I was diagnosed with diabetes before going away for school. I cried more because of my mom's reaction than the actual diagnosis. But that diagnosis opened my eyes that I had to lose weight or I wouldn't live long. A few other things: I didn't like the way I felt in clothes. I didn't like the way I looked in photos. I developed unwanted hair and dark Patches of skin on my body. I could have fertility issues in the future. Overall, I just want to start living. -

Me too! My family just went out to eat and even though I chose to do this, I feel like clawing their eyes out of hunger lol.
