    Any June sleevers out there?

I get that same feeling. I'm a June 8 sleeve. But it seems to be diminishing. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  3. That's the fastest I've heard! Mine was 8 weeks and 6 days between my first appointment and my surgery date (April 7 to June 8) and I thought that was fast. Good luck! To the OP- I think it varies for a lot of reasons. Plans can vary wildly in what they require to cover it. I think the best thing you can do is make sure your surgeon's practice is big enough and practiced enough to have plenty of experience working with your insurer. The better your surgeon's office knows the insurance and how to get them to approve VSG, the smoother things are likely to go. Good luck to you, too! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    2 days out! Help

I'm 6 days out. I felt the same thing, but it's gotten better. Who knows? The effects of this on my body are still an adventure for me. Good luck! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Drinking problems

My ex-wife had gastric bypass some years ago. She'd always been a drinker, but after the surgery she was out of control. It ended in arrest and removal from the home. Everyone makes their own choices, but my experience with drinking after bariatric surgery hasn't been very positive. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Day 4 liquid diet

I had my surgery on Wednesday, and I had rotisserie chicken salad for lunch (about 2 oz) and my wife made baked haddock (about 3 oz- I was too full after) with creamed cauliflower (maybe 1 oz) for dinner. Basically my surgeon said if I can mush it through a fork I can eat it Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  9. So a few months ago I realized WHY I needed to get WLS. For me it was that I was starting to just feel awful being so heavy, and my co-morbidities were starting to pile up. High BP, Barrett's esophagus, GERD, and sleep apnea. I realized I could spend the rest of my life sliding helplessly, or I could give myself a tool to change my life forever. On that note, I scheduled my first appointment on April 7. My surgeon's office was amazing. They scheduled all of my appointments for me- psych, endoscopy, sleep study, stress test, pulmonary...the works. They scheduled all of my appointments after 4 so I didn't have to miss any work, and when those were all compete they got my insurance approval fast. Today my surgeon sleeved me, 8 weeks and 6 days after I went to my initial consultation. I feel great, only problem right now is gas, but I'm up and walking and super excited about my new life. I've really gotten a lot out of reading all the posts here over the past few weeks, working through whether I should do it or not, and whether I think I can succeed long term. Guess what? I believe I can. Thanks to all the people who post here. I doubt I'd have been anywhere near as positive about this if it weren't for you all. So, anyone have a shorter time from first visit to surgery than 62 days? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
