Before and After pics Panniculectomy

Hey everyone! I had my panniculectomy on June 5th and here are my before and afters! Stats: Highest: 540 Size 38 Surgery: 480 Size 32 Panni: 275 Size 24 pant 18 top Current: 248 Size 16 bottom and 14 top 15 pounds of skin removed I am soooo incredibly happy with the results! I don't care about scars. I went from a size 24 before surgery to a size 16. AMAZING! I want to have more surgeries done but I need to wait to get to goal first. My panni was so bad I had to get it removed before getting to goal. My thighs will be first. Ugh I hate them! -
Alright everyone, here we go again! Please be patient with my updates on the spreadsheet as I have a lot going on. This challenge will run from August 25, 2017 to October 20, 2017. This will give us a total of 9 weigh ins. I will do my best to post to the spreadsheet within 1 - 2 day of receiving your weight but I am going to be in 5 classes and working 2 jobs so if it takes me a few extra days I am sorry but I WILL have it updated as soon as possible!! Please note that I will recalculate the figures as soon as I can following the Friday weigh in - so your weight percentages may be a little off... I have made these Friday weigh ins because that will allow us to start as soon as possible. You may post your weight at anytime during the week if Friday is not your weigh in day! This challenge is for everyone. If you are pre op, post op, in maintenance or looking for some accountability; this challenge is for you! The rules and link to the spreadsheet are below! Procedures: Please Post Your Starting Weight (Weight on or around August 25th) and Goal Weight (what you would like to weigh at the end of the challenge) at the start of the challenge on August 25, 2017. Remember this goal weight is only for the end of the challenge, not your ending goal weight!! You can cut/paste this below and fill it in on your post - Goal Weight: Current Weight: Today's Date: Rules: 1. I will be awarding a prize to 2 lucky participants! The winners will be selected at random an the only thing you need to do to be eligible for the drawing is log your weight each week! 2. Post your weight on this thread every Friday. Specifically 8/25, 9/1, 9/8, 9/15, 9/22, 9/29, 10/6, 10/13, and 10/20 3. If you change your screen name please let me know. 4. If you miss 2 or more weigh ins, I will assume you no longer want to participate and your name will be removed from the spreadsheet. 5. If you miss a weigh in on Friday, no problem. So this may be tmi but my doctor pointed something out to me the other day and I wondered if anyone else had this issue. Even though I'm not anywhere close to goal I have a bunch of hanging skin since I've lost 200 lbs. I just turned 30 and just started dating again. I don't feel comfortable being naked with someone because I feel disgusting. My doctor pointed out I was fine and didn't care about how my body looked when I was much heavier. It really made me stop and think. I don't know why I was more okay being naked when I was heavier than I do now. The only thing I can think of is that I didn't care at all what I looked like before and now I do. I wear make up and I dress nice now. I don't know how to become comfortable enough with my new body and hanging skin to be intimate with someone. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

So I wanted to vent to people who would understand. As some of you know I started my journey at 540 pounds and wearing a size 38/40 I’m now 18 months out from surgery and weigh 245ish pounds and wearing a size 16/18. Tomorrow I am flying for the first time since my skin removal surgery. When I flew in April before my skin removal surgery I still needed 2 seats and a seatbelt extender. I did not buy 2 seats this time and I am NERVOUS!! What if I overflow into the other seat?! I know I’m much smaller than I was I’m just scared nonetheless. I’m flying with my boyfriend so at least I would just crowd his space but it’s still embarrassing. I’m so scared to get on this plane tomorrow! Thanks for letting me vent! I am sorry I have not been around much lately. My schedule is going to calm down in the next few weeks so I should be able to post more again!

I don’t have a goal weight really anymore. I have a goal clothing size. Like Berry78, many of the people who had surgery at the same time as me 18 months ago have reached goal but I had over 300 to lose. I’m now 20-40 pounds away from where I’d like to be. You have to figure out what is right for you. The BMI scale means nothing really! Don’t let anyone tell you what your goal should be but you. Good luck! -

Hey! So I totally agree about getting the sleeve first then revising it to DS if you feel you need it. I started out at 540 pounds at my first Bariatric appointment. I had Surgery at the end of May in 2016 at 480 pounds. Now almost 18 months later I am 240. I've been 240ish since about September but I've been crazy busy and haven't been staying as strict on my plan so that's really why. The sleeve helped me get there. My goal is to just get out of plus size clothes, I don't have a number goal. I went from a size 38-40 to 16/18. My life is a million times better. As to your question about the vitamins, I have taken meds for most of my life so it didn't add much more. Once you develop a routine it's easy! -
I hit a milestone today I am super excited about! I have finally lost 300 pounds! I have been stalled the past few months and finally lost those last 6 pounds to hit this milestone! I am so thankful to be making this journey. It still feels like a dream to me. It's crazy how I went from having to be on oxygen 24/7 and hardly being able to cross a room without getting out of breath to being able to walk for 6 miles and still be ready to go out and do other things! I am loving life right now and wanted to share my excitement at hitting this milestone with you!

HELLO EVERYONE!!! I am SOOOOOOOOOOO Incredibly sorry I have not been able to update the spreadsheet and offer support to you amazing people <3 My life has been INSANE and I hardly even have time to just sit down lately. My weight has sufered because of this I worked on updating the spreadsheet this morning and have updated it mostly through 10/13. I am going away this weekend but will update it fully on Monday. Again, I am so sorry, Those who have done my challenges before know this doesn't happen. I will finish updating on Monday and will post my messages of congratulations then! You all did so well!! I'm so proud of all of you! To those who were concerned about me, I so appreciate your concern. I am doing good just stressed and busy out of my mind with work and school and a romantic relationship. <3 <3 <3 -

At 2 weeks out from surgery I was consuming 400-600 calories. I didn't up my calories to 1000 until 8 months out. -

I love the oh yeah! One bars! My favorite flavors are: almond bliss (tastes like almond joy, even is topped with almonds! Birthday cake (even has sprinkles!) Blueberry cobbler Lemon cake Maple glazed donut Mint chocolate chip Peanut butter pie And my favorite...salted caramel! -

Thank you! I did have a panniculectomy on June 5th. They removed 15 pounds of skin. I will have more surgeries once I hit goal. I had to get the panni done before I reached goal because it was affecting my quality of life. -

Thank you. Honestly, I stayed committed for the most part but I also had a few months where it was harder than before and I didn't follow the plan. I did stray for a bit and gained 3-4 pounds in the process. I just tried to remember how bad my quality of life was before and it renewed my focus. Being able to keep up or be faster than my friends instead of being blocks behind them is crazy. Being able to shop in stores I never could before? Insane. Being (for the most part) happy with who I am and how I look? I never thought it would happen. When I want to stray from plan I now make myself go on a walk and remind myself that before I couldn't even sit in a chair without getting out of breath. I am determined to not let myself get back to that place. You have to find the things you are getting healthy for and hold onto them. Remind yourself of what you're working for. I wanted to be able to participate in life instead of being on the sidelines all the time. Now I'm very active and I have more friends than time to see them. It's a surreal feeling and I'm not going to stop working until I reach my goal...then the hard part starts! Good luck to you! -

Aww thank you! I lost 60 pounds in the 6 months before surgery and since surgery May 29, 2016 (about 15 1/2 months ago) I've lost 240 pounds. So in total I guess 21 months. -
