    New here, constant nausea

I wanted to respond to your remark about medication. It definitely gets easier as you heal. I take about 12 meds in the morning and 9 at night and that's without my vitamins. I had to spread them out throughout the day because I couldn't take them all at once. I made an excel spreadsheet schedule to help me remember. I separated them into like 6 or 7 doses during the day to help me get them all in. I wouldn't have been able to otherwise. Now at 5 months out I'm able to take them in one sitting. New here, constant nausea

This happened to me. I had my sleeve May 27, 2016 and I started having extreme nausea 3 weeks after surgery. I couldn't even smell food without wanting to die. They ended up having to put a picc line in my arm so I could give myself infusions every night to give my body the Fluid and nutrition it needs because I couldn't eat or drink anything. I was on 5 different antinausea meds and I still felt nauseous. The nausea improved slightly as the months went on and I was able to eat and drink but not very much. They found gallstones in my gallbladder at the end of September and they removed my gallbladder on 10/18 and no more nausea. Im happy it's gone but I'm also upset because what if all the nausea that whole time was just my gallbladder I went through months of nausea and got 2 separate blood infections from the picc line. Gallstones

I just had my gallbladder removed on 10/18 because of gallstones. I had my sleeve surgery at the end of May. I also had excruciating pain and was throwing up and went to the ER. They did a cat scan but didn't see anything. I saw my surgeon and he ordered an ultrasound and they found the stones. I had been feeling very sick and since the gallbladder came out I no longer feel nauseous! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Compulsive weighing

Thank you! Haha that's a good point! I know the weight loss is going to slow down as the months go on and I get closer to goal (though I'm still pretty far away from that.) I agree about never not weighing. I couldn't ever do that! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Compulsive weighing

So I know I weigh myself too much. I weigh myself morning and night and sometimes in between. I'm just so fascinated with the numbers dropping! I mean I had surgery on May 27th but I've had so many complications I haven't really been able to enjoy the weight loss. Now that I feel better I weigh myself all the time. It just drops and drops. I've lost 10 pounds since Saturday and it's now Tuesday and I just love seeing those smaller numbers. Is it really harmful to keep weighing myself? I really have a hard time not getting on the scale....Did any of you have struggles with this? Compulsive weighing

I agree about the step aerobics haha that is a great way to put it! I think that I am just fascinated by the numbers! But I do sometimes feel a little disappointment when it goes up a little. But not enough I think to depress me. It's more like..oh darn..lets keep moving. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App I agree about the step aerobics haha that is a great way to put it! Compulsive weighing

Thanks for your reply! I just think this fast drop is insane it's crazy to watch! I never went through a stall per-say...I did gain 3 pounds in 2 weeks but that was because they were feeding me 1200 calories through my picc line and I started eating again and was eating 400-600 calories a day! Once they lowered the calories in my infusion I lost it right away. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Thank you so much! It's been a difficult journey this past 5 months! Thank you so much for your input also! I agree...I should analyze how the numbers make me feel and if it starts to depress me I will stop. Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    3 weeks tomorrow and lost....

That sounds exactly like what I am going through....my dr finally said he had no idea, but thanks to a mighty God and a lot of prayer warriors, its gettibg better....Will pray for your situation as well.. Sent from my SM-G900P using the BariatricPal App My doctor said it's something that happens to some Bariatric patients and they aren't quite sure why. He said it does go away it just might take days, weeks, or months. I can tell you that I have been taking less and less nausea meds and today was the first day I didn't need to take any. So I guess for me it lasted 4 months. What really turned the tables for me though is having my gallbladder taken out on 10/18. They had found stones and when they took it out they said it was inflamed. So maybe that was contributing to some of my nausea? I'm not sure... I'm just glad I'm starting to feel normal again. I've just been in the hospital a lot since my sleeve surgery. In the past 3 weeks I was in the hospital 16 days. Going home for 3 days in the middle of 2 stays. I wish you the best and hope you don't have symptoms as long as I did! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I thought I had more time! (Kinda long)

I don't have any tips but I just want to say CONGRATULATIONS!! You have done AMAZING things! Also I would say..I understand how you might feel that way. I expect to feel that way when I'm at goal. I know I am not even close to goal but I want to say a few things. Every time you lose weight you lose it differently and that can be incredibly frustrating when you expect one result and get another. We hold these images in our head of what we want to look like at different weights and when it's different..even if we have done incredible things to get here..it can be disheartening. I suggest 2 things. Start saving money for cosmetic surgeries you might need. This will help in the end. Also, maybe see a therapist that can help you sort through these conflicting feelings. In the end I just want to say, I understand and you are not crazy or being petty. You are being human. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

5 days out and it isn't good

I had the same pain as you had. They kept me and extra 4 days for pain and nausea. For me it lasted 3 weeks. But others had it last much shorter of a time. Definitely walk to get that gas out! It REALLY will help!! Also stay on top of those pain meds! Set a schedule and even set alarms during the night so you don't get behind the pain! It WILL get better!
