    Pain

I understand. It can be a scary thing! I have been on pain meds many many many times in my life and I'm thankful I never got addicted. It is better to take them ahead of the pain because it is harder to get it under control if you wait until it's really bad. See what your doctor says though. You will start feel a little better once things get moving and you get rid of the gas and have a bowel movement

    Pain

I understand you don't want to get hooked on pain killers but you also should not suffer in pain. I had to take 4 mg of dialaudid for 3 weeks every 4-6 hours I was in so much pain. I do not do that well after surgery though. You are given pain meds so you so not have to be in so much pain.

    The weight loss cha-cha

@DebSmiles I'm ready for a dance party! I can't imagine how hard it must be to travel for work! I just went to visit my sister for the weekend and I'm also going away this coming weekend to visit my friend. I'm going to try and cook more this coming weekend though! The scale will definitely be the judge of what I ate! I weighed myself when I got home and I lost a pound from when I left but I know weight doesn't get added right away!

    Post-op insomnia?!

You could maybe see if you can take melatonin vitamins. I do that when I can't sleep, lately my mania (I have bipolar) has been so out of whack and I haven't been able to sleep but the melatonin helps. I'm not sure if you can take it so soon after surgery though! It's worth an ask though!

    Freakin NSV!

@doingit4me2017 Thank you!! @Torriluv87 haha! Thanks! I would love a party! haha @sxynana Thanks! Yeah, I think I bought too much! haha I am going to return some! I know I shouldn't buy too much but at the same time most of the rest of my clothes are too big and look funny on. lol I should try a consignment shop, I wasn't sure they would have my size though! @AmiLou Thanks! I finally enjoy it as well! I have started wearing mostly fancy/cute clothes because I was stuck in tshirts and stretchy pants for so long I don't even want to put them on except to sleep in anymore! I also have started wearing make up. It makes me feel good. I don't really know how to use it that well though but I'm learning! I can't wait to get out of the plus size section!! @dmelchThat is AMAZING!! Congrats on your success! I can't wait to get where you are! @nessa87 Thanks! It is a great feeling! I am trying to control my buying and to remember it's just going to go to waste in a few weeks/months but I hate looking frumpy in big clothes too now! It's a problem lol.

    Doctor set goal?

Did everyone have a goal set by your doctor for you to reach?? I keep seeing people mention that their surgeon has a number that they want them to reach by so and so date. My surgeon did not set a goal for me. He just asked me where I wanted to go and said that would be good and even said that might be too much (200). What has been everyone else's experience? When I was at my last appointment I expressed how I thought I should have done better so far since I started so high (at that point I had lost 150 since surgery) They looked at me like I was crazy and said., "I'm going to pretend you didn't actually ask me that! You are doing amazing!" I still feel like I should be doing better though.
  15. @roachbug Thanks! I've definitely had some hard times but I am moving onward and downward! You are definitely inspiration!

    Exercise

@kayshabear It''s hard when you have a support and then they go out of town! I'm sure you'll make it there by April!!
  19. Dashofpixiedust8

    Exercise

@kayshabear Thats great! It can be hard to find the time sometimes! I couldn't exercise right after surgery due to complications so I feel like I am behind! I am loving the gym though!
  20. It is odd that each surgeon has different diets after surgery. At 2 weeks after surgery I was JUST starting pureed diet. If you are concerned I suggest you eat something soft like eggs, refried Beans, greek yogurt, fish, or making chicken and pureeing it with some broth, sauce, or milk. If you don't feel comfortable then don't eat something so solid. It is suggested to follow your surgeons plan but but I feel like thats more the rule for when you want to move faster than their plan, if you want to move slower that is up to you!

    Stomach Cramping

I have a feeling it is just gas but I suggest you give your surgeon a call just in case it's something more.

    Itchy under bra band

I'm surprised the nurse didn't give you a cream for it. I suggest going to your primary then if your surgeon didn't help. If regular lotions don't help you may need something medicated. I have to use medicated cream.

    Doctor set goal?

@sherri~ Thats good! It's hard because I feel like I should have lost more by now. I know I have lost a lot though! I'm just greedy I guess. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one to not have a specific goal.

    Feeling slightly discouraged!

Please don't feel discouraged. I knwo it is hard not to compare yourself to others but so many things contribute to how fast people lose like age, sex, and how heavy they are. You are doing great! I also wouldn't compare because your body can swell and retain Water because you are healing from a very serious surgery! Everyone's body heals differently. You have lost 12 pounds!! That is amazing! Be proud of what you have done. Also, it is VERY important to get in enough fluids and Protein or else your body will hold on tight to your weight because it thinks it is being deprived. That can also make you lose slower.

    I failed...I didn't succeed with sleeve!

I had the sleeve in May of 2016 and I also haven't down the low carb/high Protein only diet. I know I wouldn't succeed at that because I like carbs too much. I had tried a diet like that before and hated it! I follow a mostly weight watcher diet and 96% the meals I make are weight watcher recipes. You need to start with what you can handle. I like to plan meals for the week and do all my shopping in one day and then having the choice of which meal to make each night but knowing I have everything. I sometimes do some of the meal prep too if I know I'll be out late and won't want to spend time preparing that night. Different diets work for different people. It's all about what YOU are willing to do. I have lost 226 pounds using weight watcher recipes. I usually can only eat half a serving anyway. I also think maybe getting some therapy would be helpful to get to the root of why you overeat. You don't have to go forever. You can go to a therapist once, 3 times, or for years. It's all about however long you feel you need the help. It's nice to have an impartial person to help give insight to why you are thinking a certain way. I had my aha moment 3 days before my consultation for surgery. I called the minute after I had it to make my first appointment. I agree it is hard to lose weight when you haven't had an aha moment, which is why I never succeeded in the past. This time has been COMPLETELY different for me in my mindset. I would in the past beat myself up if I went off plan a little and then go on a bender because I'd just be like, why even try? Now I realize it's okay. It's okay to eat what you want as long as it is in moderation. I wish you the best of luck and if you need any help feel free to message me!
