    LOVE YOURSELF VALENTINES CHALLENGE

My weigh in for this week is 303.8! I almost cried on the scale! I thought I would never reach my challenge goal of 299 this time because I kept going up and down with all the traveling and not making great choices but I started meal planning again and measuring and tracking and going back to the gym and I lost almost 14 pounds this week! I'm so excited! I can NOT wait to see a 2 at the beginning of my weight!!

@Hazel_eyez Congrats on reaching your challenge goal! Did you want to revise your goal for the remaining 2 weeks?

    LOVE YOURSELF VALENTINES CHALLENGE

@jwinters19Congrats on breaking your stall! It's good to reassess what you need to do every so often! @sxynanaI'm so glad this has been helping you! @Torriluv87Haha I can SOO relate! I feel like this period has lasted forever this week! Usually I'm only for like 4 days and I'm going on 9 now I have been carbing it up! SO hard to eat right when I just want to cry and eat chocolate haha. Being a girl sucks sometimes! This challenge is over on the week of March 24th! I will start a new one after that! @Jen-2+1It's okay if you don't reach your goal! You are still going down! Thats all that matters! Our bodies don't always react the way we want them too! You have the next challenge coming up to reach another goal!

    LOVE YOURSELF VALENTINES CHALLENGE

@jellybean12 I'm sorry you are going through that! It is incredibly frustrating I know! It gets much harder I think once you get down to the lower numbers but you are doing so well! @Mandybb That's great! Congratulations! Try not to (even though I know it's almost impossible) compare your journey to others! I did that and it really drove me insane for a bit. I had SUCH a high BMI and yet those who had much lower were losing much faster than I was which made NO sense to me. I had to take a step back and enjoy my own journey and just be proud of each step I took downward. @bill1130 You are doing so great! Congrats on your hard work! @hermione53 Congrats for getting to ONEDERLAND!! You are doing amazing!

@BigUtahMan Stalls are the most frustrating things! It is always nice to know we are not alone and it gets better! @rubia72 Aww! I'm sorry hun! It will go back down! @dede0314 You are doing great!

    LOVE YOURSELF VALENTINES CHALLENGE

@Mandybb I'm sure that's frustrating, everyone's body does different crazy things! I hope it starts moving down more soon for you! Maybe you aren't having enough calories?

    Found my courage

I had many complications after surgery and I would definitely do it again in a heartbeat. This surgery has changed my life for the better in so many ways! Good luck on your journey!

    No weight lost

You are only one week out. Give your body time to adjust. Every one's body reacts differently to the surgery. Some people (like me) actually gained weight because of the fluids given in the hospital and swelling inside recovering from surgery. Just keep doing what you are supposed to and it will start coming off.
  9. I started at 540 pounds and I am now at 315 pounds. I am not at goal (which is 199) but I asked my bariatric surgeon about when people got surgery because my stomach hang really bothers me already. They said I could make a consultation with a plastic surgeon and see when their recommendations were. I met with the plastic surgeon and he said I have 2 options. He said usually he recommends people to wait until goal BUT mine is so large and has been giving me so many issues with rashes and pain that he would remove the flap after my one year anniversary (Which is May 29th) but that Insurance would only pay for the surgery once and I would most likely need a revision since I still have 100 pounds to lose but I would have to pay out of pocket for that. Has anyone else gone through this and had to make this decision? I'm not quite sure what to do. I really want this flap gone because it's causing me so many issues but I don't know what to do. Also, did anyone else get the surgery and lose their belly button?? He said I would no longer have a belly button. I'm kind of excited that I get to tell people I was grown in a lab or that I'm an alien though. haha But how does it look?

    Plastic Surgery Before Goal

@Journey4myhealth That is true. I'm leaning towards getting the surgery. I think it definitely would boost my confidence. I wear spanx now and when I don't wear them I look twice as large. It also gets in the way when I walk/move my legs. @Suaniya Thank you so much! I'm glad it doesn't look too weird. I was thinking if I do get it (and after the second one) I could always get a tattoo where a belly button is supposed to be! That is also true about financing options, I never really thought of that! Thanks! @Vinasu Thanks! It doesn't look so bad! @MrsJP Thank you! I'm so glad you saw this too! I also had a band in the past but had it removed due to complications. I'm so glad I got the sleeve! I'm also glad to hear the recovery isn't as bad as the sleeve!

    Plastic Surgery Before Goal

@Berry78 Those are a lot of complications! That is a scary part of the surgery. It is something to take into consideration. Thank you! @ssflbelle You have lost an AMAZING amount of weight! I still have about 115 pounds to go. I know if I get it now I will need a second surgery. It is really hard to deal with already. I'm worried if I wait it will really limit the exercises I will be able to do. Good luck with your surgery at the end of March! I look forward to seeing your success story! @Thejeweledsleeve Yeah, I'm thinking I will get it removed. It is affecting how I walk already. The surgeon told me I will not have a belly button. He said there was really no reason to save it.

    LOVE YOURSELF VALENTINES CHALLENGE

@faithlovehope It's frustrating to go up but today is a new day and you'll get back to it! @hermione53 I wouldn't stress too much over .2 of a pound. Our bodies fluctuate so much that that could just be water weight. I know it's hard not to analyze the numbers and get upset by any increase but as long as you are doing the right things it will come off! @SabzyI know it sucks but today is a new day and we will all get back to losing! @HiltonHead2010 I totally understand. I was away the past 2 weekends and I ate out more than I wanted to and didn't make the best choices. I know what I did and honestly I was expecting more of a gain than 2 pounds. I'm home now though and back on the saddle. It's already come off.

@SoCalLaura Stalls are so hard! You will get past it! Have you tried switching things up at all?

    LOVE YOURSELF VALENTINES CHALLENGE

@dede0314 It must be frustrating! Our bodies do some crazy things! as long as you are staying on plan try paying more attention to your inches than that pesky scale! If you stray, it's fine just start anew! @Mandybb No problem! I'm glad your stall is over too! You are going down though! How far out are you from surgery? @Blueberry It's okay! You will get there soon enough! I do the same thing except I go the opposite way! I am stuck thinking I'm in the 500's or 400's. It's hard for me to accept that I'm almost in the 200's!!

    LOVE YOURSELF VALENTINES CHALLENGE

@jwinters19 Stalls suck but you are getting through it! Shake it up a bit and see if it can kick this stall to the curb! @jellybean12 You are doing amazing! That exercise class sounds fun! How was it?

    LOVE YOURSELF VALENTINES CHALLENGE

317.6 this week. I expected a gain since I was traveling so much and not eating the best and it isn't as bad as I thought it would be but it's still not good!

    4 days post op

I agree on giving it time. It's sore because of the breathing tube put in during surgery. Drink what you can now, it will get better!

50+ lbs gone but still fit in old jeans?

You don't always lose weight everywhere at the same time. The weight falls off from different parts of your body at different rates which is frustrating. Just like how everyone holds weight in different parts of your body you lose weight in different parts of your body at different rates. My pant size went down much slower than my top size. I'm down 226 pounds. I wore a size 6x (34/36 but I was stretching the limits) top and bottom before surgery. Then My top size went down to 30/32 then 26/28 then 22/24 but my bottom size went down to a 30/32 when my top was a 26/28 then it skipped the 26/28 and went right to 22/24. Weight loss can be frustrating but just know it will go down. It just may happen at a weird rate.

    Leave denial from work?

I worked part time and was not eligible for FMLA but WAS approved for ADA leave. You could try that also.

    Diet silverware

That's cute. I just bought baby silverware and appetizer forks and spoons from bed bath and beyond. You can get a set of 6 appetizer forks and spoons for like $5 each.

    Pain below my belly button

I did not really have pain in my lower belly but if you are experiencing a new pain it is worth a call out to the nurses line at your surgeon. When something new occurs you should let them know, especially so close out from surgery. It will give you better peace of mind. This board is a great resource and I encourage you to keep using it but your doctor is the best resource for things like this. Just take everything you hear here with a grain of salt, everyone has different instructions. Good luck to you and congrats on your surgery!
