Aww, thank you. I do appreciate it! I am trying to see the bigger picture and that it's a long term thing. I know I shouldn't compare myself, I try not to, sometimes it's hard not to. :-P I do appreciate your kind words and I'm glad to know I was able to help you! -

That's true. I mostly mean getting back on program and tracking and exercising more again! Thanks! I'm sad I ever let myself get to the point that I have to lose 340 pounds. I know I need to look at the future and focus on how far I've already come but it's hard not to remember how trapped I was. I do need to work on my emotional eating still and am working with my therapist on it but it's a process. I go through phases of feeling proud of all I've done to feeling like a failure because I'm not losing as much or as fast as I thought I would. I feel like my "magically fast" first 6 months was stolen from me since I had so many complications and had to be on tpn infusions to get my fluids and nutrients for the first 5 months. -

@Hazel_eyez Well, I don't have a BF. lol. These are the first couple dates with guys. I've been going out with a few guys trying to find one that fits. Also, I live with my parents so I can't really have them over! Once I know them better I can offer to go to their house to make dinner but mostly I haven't gotten to that part yet! -

@BigUtahMan Yeah, maybe I should lay off the scale for a bit. It's hard for me. Sometimes the weight still falls off a bit. I did end up losing 20 pounds in the in the challenge. I need to get back to being strict with myself though. -

@Hazel_eyez haha thanks! I don't watch my carbs at all which maybe I should? I don't know. My nutritionist said I don't have to if that kin d of diet isn't sustainable for me, which it isn't. I should start drinking more water though. I've been going out to eat a lot lately because I've started dating and it's annoying because I don't WANT to go out to eat but thats what people do! -

@Hazel_eyez That happens to me too. And my cycle has been sooooo messed up because cysts have started growing again I just had mine for 9 days then 3 days later it started again! @BigUtahMan Thanks! I'm trying! It's so hard. Lately I've been feeling like such a failure which I know in my mind is silly because I've lost 236 pounds but in my emotions I just see the stall/gain -

Hello, I had my sleeve surgery on May 29, 2016. I started at a high weight of 540 pounds and am currently at 319. Here are my questions: 1. I already have a lot of hanging skin, did anyone get a surgery in between the end surgery to get rid of hanging skin? It's already giving me trouble on my stomach. 2. How long did you wait to get plastic surgery? 3. Did anyone lose the amount of weight I have to lose (over 300 pounds)? What was your skin situation like? 4. Has anyone had to date before having this extra skin removed? Did it make it harder? I am 30 and am trying to date but it is hard, I am very embarrassed with my body. It's odd, I felt more confident in my body while dating when I was heavier than I do now... Thanks for any responses!

So as some of you know I started at 540 pounds October of 2015. I had surgery May 29, 2016 at 480 pounds and today (March 23, 2017) I am 303.6 pounds. I am mostly happy with my progress but am plagued with lots of extra skin. Even though I am not a year out from my surgery I met with a plastic surgeon for my stomach hang. It bothers me a lot and is pretty painful. The surgeon gave me 2 options. 1. I could wait until goal or 2. I could get have surgery to remove the hang now and have a revision later. I chose to try and have insurance cover it now and get a revision later because it bothers me so much. They submitted it to insurance and I got the call that they approved it!! My surgery date is June 5th! I'm very excited but also a bit nervous. The surgeon said mine would be the largest he has ever done and I would need at least 4 drains in for about 4 weeks. I'm also nervous that by June I might be closer to goal and it might be silly to get it now when I would have to get it again so soon. It's really hard to tell my rate of weight loss though once I get closer to goal. Overall I am excited and just wanted to share my good news with everyone!

I started at 540 pounds and I am now at 315 pounds. I am not at goal (which is 199) but I asked my bariatric surgeon about when people got surgery because my stomach hang really bothers me already. They said I could make a consultation with a plastic surgeon and see when their recommendations were. I met with the plastic surgeon and he said I have 2 options. He said usually he recommends people to wait until goal BUT mine is so large and has been giving me so many issues with rashes and pain that he would remove the flap after my one year anniversary (Which is May 29th) but that Insurance would only pay for the surgery once and I would most likely need a revision since I still have 100 pounds to lose but I would have to pay out of pocket for that. Has anyone else gone through this and had to make this decision? I'm not quite sure what to do. I really want this flap gone because it's causing me so many issues but I don't know what to do. Also, did anyone else get the surgery and lose their belly button?? He said I would no longer have a belly button. I'm kind of excited that I get to tell people I was grown in a lab or that I'm an alien though. haha But how does it look?

@Torriluv87It is both exciting and scary! It's true the skin will weigh some. The doctor said the skin doesn't weigh as much as I might think it does though! -

@Thejeweledsleeve Thanks! I still have about 105 pounds to go. I've lost about 70% of what I want to lose. I'm happy with my progress so far. I'm having more issues recently as I'm trying to date and have been going out to eat more and cooking at home less. I need to learn how to balance it better! -
