HOP INTO SPRING CHALLENGE!!
Dashofpixiedust8 replied to Dashofpixiedust8's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am sooo sorry! I didn't realize people could not see it! I have updated it so everyone should be able to view it now!! Sorry everyone! -
I'm glad my doctor didn't do that. He was more like..I think you can get there but you don't even have to get that low. I started at 540 pounds though so maybe that's why. I'm now at 301 at 10 months out and they said I have way exceeded their expectations. I have my one year appointment in May!

My doctor asked me what I wanted to get down to. I said 200. He said sounds good. That will still put me at overweight according to BMI standards but honestly that stuff is such bs. I'm 5'10 by the way

Has anyone been hospitalized for starvation?
Dashofpixiedust8 replied to CocoNina's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was unable to eat or drink anything for a while due to complications. So in a way I was, but it's only because I had complications. I had a picc line put in and I had to give myself TPN infusions every night that gave me nutrients and fluids so my body got what it needed. I don't think people have trouble with malnutrition UNLESS they have complications. Your body can survive on 500 calories a day. -

Also, please do not request access to the spreadsheet. I find it becomes messy when too many people are editing the sheet because of all the formulas. -
Sorry it's taken me so long to start this challenge, I've been going through a lot. This challenge will run from February 3, 2017 through March 24, 2017. This will give us a total of 8 weigh ins. I will do my best to post to the spreadsheet within 1 - 2 day of receiving your weight but I am working two jobs and taking 5 classes so if it takes me a few extra days I am sorry but I WILL have it updated as soon as possible!! Please note that I will recalculate the figures as soon as I can following the Friday weigh in - so your weight percentages may be a little off... I have made these Friday weigh ins because that will allow us to start as soon as possible. You may post your weight at anytime during the week if Friday is not your weigh in day! This challenge is for everyone. If you are pre op, post op, in maintenance or looking for some accountability; this challenge is for you! The rules and link to the spreadsheet are below! Procedures: Please Post Your Starting Weight (Weight on or around 11/14) and your Goal Weight (what you would like to weigh at the end of the challenge) at the start of the challenge on February 3, 2017. You can cut/paste this below and fill it in on your post - Goal Weight: Current Weight: Today's Date: Rules: 1. I will be awarding a prize to 2 lucky participants! The winners will be selected at random an the only thing you need to do to be eligible for the drawing is log your weight each week! 2.Post your weight on this thread every Friday. Specifically 2/3, 2/10, 2/17, 2/24, 3/3, 3/10, 3/17, 3/24 3. If you change your screen name please let me know. 4. If you miss 2 or more weigh ins, I will assume you no longer want to participate and your name will be removed from the spreadsheet. 5. If you miss a weigh in on Friday, no problem. Just post it asap. 6. We are all here to support each other, if you post a question anyone can answer. 7. You will know your weight is updated on the spreadsheet once I've liked your post! The link to the spreadsheet is below! Have fun, and good luck with this challenge!!! https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/18mFrEfxi-VOlFkoSgiJzWVGclHea0cNUHJG6pqOkCVE/edit?usp=sharing

HOP INTO SPRING CHALLENGE!!

While looking at this on this app it doesn't look like it has everything you need to post.. Please post your goal weight AND starting weight on April 7th!! -
It's not just pain management, it's your incisions. Consult your doctor. You risk opening your incisions if you do too much physical activity too soon. Sex affects the stomach muscles and that affects your incisions.

Question about expected percentage lost
Dashofpixiedust8 posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hey everyone! I was trying to research it but had trouble finding the answer I'm looking for... What is the expected percentage of weight loss after surgery by month? I am about 10 months out and I was wondering what the normal weight loss percentage was at 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, and 18 months were. I found many different numbers and was wondering what you all knew? I saw there is an estimated 60% extra body weight loss but is that after how long? Is that in years or months? How much have you all lost? What is your loss percentage = (Starting weight-current weight)/(Starting weight-goal weight)? How far out are you? -
Question about expected percentage lost
Dashofpixiedust8 replied to Dashofpixiedust8's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@Diana_in_Philly You've done great! That's awesome! I started at 540 on 10/31/15. On surgery day 5/29/16 I was 480 and I'm currently 303. My goal is 199. I'm down 69.2% and I'm about 10 months out. I started wearing a size 36 but should have been a 38 but couldn't really find it. I'm now wearing a size 22! Lately I have been going up and down with the same 3 pounds the past 3 weeks or so. It can get frustrating. I have been SOOOO hungry. ugh. ALL DAY! I am having some health things going on though that are contributing (ovarian cysts and stopping birth control). I hope it stops soon! Who did your surgery? I'm in Wilmington, DE and I went to Penn for my surgery. -

@klette0147 I was thinking "hop into Spring" since I will probably do a summer one after! -
I've tried it before surgery. As usual some flavors were better than others. I did not enjoy the chocolate flavor. As listed on the carton it is much better if you let it sit out a few minutes before eating, then it has more of a true ice cream texture!
