    Just about a year out

Congrats! You've done AMAZING! Also, you look amazing!!! We have kind of similar stats and surgery dates. I started at 540 and had surgery at 480. My surgery date was 5/29/2016 and I am down 250 overall and now weight 290. I'm glad to see your success!!

    Unrealistic expectations?

@Sajijoma wow! That is great progress! How long did it take you to reach under 200? I started at 540 and my surgiversary is 5/29. I am now 290 pounds and can't wait to get under 200! I know everyone is different but I was just curious!

    Not enough calories maybe? Confused....

Look up 3 week stall. It is VERY VERY common. Just keep doing what you need to do and you will start losing again. Focus on how you are feeling and your measurements. The scale will move again just stay the course.
  7. You need to walk walk walk to get rid of that gas. My surgeon's office did not recommend gas x or beano so early after surgery and to try and try to get it out naturally. As the gas goes out you will feel much better.

First 7 days post op with surgery complications.

You are still VERY new after surgery. It is hard to get all your protein and liquids in right away. It took me week or two to be able to get in the recommended daily goal.

Where do you see yourself Long term

In 15 years I will be 45 and I see myself married possibly with kids. I will be able to shop anywhere I want and wear the clothes I actually want to wear and not the ones I have to settle for. Working in a career I enjoy and I will have traveled to countries I always wanted to visit and only had to buy one seat. I will have gone sky diving, zorbing, and bungee jumping. I will have season tickets to the theater and orchestra and be able to buy any seat not have to buy handicap seats so I can use a pull out chair...That's my dream at least.

Very emotional after the sleeve procedure

@Deactivatedfatgal A little over 11 months. My surgiversary is May 29th.
  11. My doctor did another sleep study about 1 year after surgery. But I stopped using my machine after about 8-9 months because it started hurting my nose. I don't suggest not following doctors orders though. At my last appointment (10 months out) I told my doctor I hadn't been using it because it hurt my nose. He told me not to use it then and we did a sleep study the other day at about 11 months out. I will see him in a few weeks to go over the results.

Very emotional after the sleeve procedure

Also, I have depression and bipolar already and after surgery I had an increase in depression and bipolar manic swings. The hormones that are released in weight loss messed with the effectiveness of my meds. I have now stabilized. I went back to normal about 9-10 months out but it was definitely a struggle for a bit.

Very emotional after the sleeve procedure

@carlychloe2 @Deactivatedfatgal @Joann454 My surgeon's office told me the anesthesia can also have an affect on your moods after surgery. Which would explain why after surgeries you feel off.

Liquid Diet 7 months post op

@lorimayes How long has your weight loss been stalled? Have you gained weight? Why do you feel you need this reset? In my opinion (and I am not a professional, please contact your surgeon's office and dietitian for your official recommendation) a liquid diet this far out will not do much. You may drop a few pounds in the few days but you need to work on your lifelong lifestyle. Track everything you eat and the activity you do. If you keep to your recommended calorie goal and up your activity the pounds and inches will come off.

    opinions on fruit?

I eat fruit and still lose weight. I do not count carbs though. It depends on what your diet is. If you have a carb restriction than fruit would not be recommended but if you are not counting carbs like me, than fruit is a good snack. I have not had any trouble eating fruit either. Especially 10 months out. I am almost a year out now (May 29th is my surgiversary).

    First Alcoholic Beverage

I drink white wine but definitely be careful of how much and how fast you drink. When I had my first drink of alcohol 6 months after surgery I had a 1/4 glass of wine and was pretty tipsy.

    Dreaded 3 week stall

It really varies by person. You body needs time to adjust to the changes. Just continue what you are doing. Also take your measurements. Sometimes your measurements go down when the scale does not. Try to not focus on the numbers and focus on how your feel and how your clothes are fitting. The scale will catch up again soon.

    HOP INTO SPRING CHALLENGE!!

My weigh in was 290.2. I ate crappy this past week and I knew I wasn't going to do well. I started tracking again today and meal planned this week and did some meal prep so I'm hoping this next week will be better!

    HOP INTO SPRING CHALLENGE!!

@gnomelover How far out from surgery are you? You do need to eat pretty much all day to get in all you need. Try to drink a lower calorie protein drink and I wouldn't eat biscuits and gravy. @Newbeva Congrats on having surgery! I hope you heal quickly!
