chycky replied to BJames42613's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sounds like you are making right choice and getting best advice. I trust my hairdresser beyond measure she is one of only 4 people I told about my wls! -
Can I have bread and if not why?
chycky replied to kcirym2vp@yahoo.com's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You can. you can have M&Ms or marshmallow fluff --- but do you want to/should you? does it work for your weight loss and is the best nutritional choice? Answer is yes. But no if choosing between better options and trying to change. But yes if you want. For me, limited real estate parking Mercedes in there not Hyundai -
Hair Loss and Hair Extensions
chycky replied to BJames42613's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would look into a wig if really bad or use clip on hair. I had extensions and they really weigh on your scalp. I would think a recipe for disaster if you are trying to recover hair. To help with regrowth (for me I am using as preventative does it matter who knows yet) PHyto makes a serum for thinning hair due to weight loss and stress. -

@ totally understand. For me, I made decision and believed it was best option. I was afraid more of complications or delays. I was afraid of where my health could go without the surgery. It is a hard decision and it can be hard and frustrating to live a new life. But everyday, esp since 2 weeks post op, I feel and see a positive change that I attribute to surgery and new life. Best of luck!

I have read some that say yes, and I am sure they will pop over to explain. For me, so far, no but I was on normal schedule pre-surgery.

Definitely normal. And, I would think that if you combined normal apprehension about a surgery with the increased $$ out of pocket (as compared to completely covered by insurance), that second guessing would increase. As others have said, you invested a lot of time to make a big decision. Until you see the fruits of that decision, you are going to question yourself. I had the same thoughts, and I just did not let that unknown or fear change my mind from what I knew was rationally needed for my health.

SOMEONE WHO GETS ME. Beyond honored

I bet he is exactly 4 tbs!

Ow ouch and pain just thinking of this! I was told that when I go (which I am working up to soon-ish) that I should have them do the higher quality image that will not be covered but only cost me about $50 as it could help prevent a second visit when they have to do the higher quality image to see what they couldn't on first film. Just wanted to share in case helpful to others and obviously it makes no sense but to me neither does smashing breasts between plates.

That is my other big fear and motivator for Protein jntake! I am also preventatively doing the Biotin for what it is worth if anything. I will also admit a variety of cocktails for hair --- pure D'or shampoo some Phyto serum for thinning due to weight loss/stress, also keratin and collagen supplements. Oh and satin pillow and satin night cap. Maybe it will at least keep what I have going and what is new growing faster if I start to lose. I know my hair and nails have been growing like crazy. I stated the biotin about 1 1/2 month pre-op. I hope your complications calm and you have been able Celebrate all you have accomplished!

I need motivation,help,advice
chycky replied to kemstah's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I can't imagine the feeling of starting surgery and not having it go through. I am so sorry. I had such fears of my liver causing an issue. Just keep thinking of the goal, look at the success stories and photos here. That is what kept me going when I was suffering the liquid phase, not to mention the longer caffeine and alcohol free time. I actually stopped drinking all alcohol and taking almost all OTC drugs months before my diet restrictions because I wanted to do all that I could to avoid issues. Not sure if it made difference or surgery would have happened regardless. But, I do know that my liver numbers got better in those few months. Good luck! -
@@LipstickLady I hope you didn't read my post as chastising you in any way as I admire your big girl panty advice (and wit)! @@LisaMergs I love that photo, I am appropriating it, appropriately.

Generally speaking, and from my perspective, I almost consider the taco/bacon/popcorn/pop rock question to be a flame post. While i like sarcasm, rudeness should be in check of course. I don't read rudeness like many I guess and I find whining from lack of coddling/enabling to be annoying. If you can't take an individual's public response then don't ask or post on a public form. I don't think anything has risen to level of violence or profanity that warrants such concern or censorship. Basically pull up your big girl panties and ignore it if you don't like it.

Foamies, who gets them?
chycky replied to twinklestar2276's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have gotten 3 times. Every time it was when I ate too fast and that too fast included a meat. The thought of it makes me chew and go slower. Not pleasant but glad that I don't experience much....so far. -

How much should I be able to eat
chycky replied to gustavio's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have never seen a 4 tbs banana. I would weigh and stick to ounces. -
I love this brand called Sistema they have loads of size options, and many in small 2-4oz sizes. They are also often at Marshalls/Home Goods/TJMaxx Other than size, the main draw to them for me was that they are BPA free and were not made in China (New Zealand made). You can find on amazon and the "mini knick knack pack" is a good assortment of 4 - 2 oz containers.

@@pik that sounds awful, sorry to hear that. Congrats again on such success after those stumbling blocks! Do you use Protein shakes at all to supplement your diet? I worry about hair loss now and later and wonder even with larger meals how I would get in 60+ grams of protein without at least one shake.

God I hope not, cheese gives me life! I weigh my cheese, and full fat as well.
