    Stomach Binder

I got one from Amazon and used it for like one or two days post op.
  2. I too had lipodema in legs and i would say that immediately post-op my legs lost a LOT of fluid! i was very happy to welcome back my ankles w/in first week! I know there is a lot more to go and they are by no means skinny, but it was a comfort and visible change that was immediate!
  3. I think if you search Ricotta you will find that recipe as there is a thread on ricotta that included a mushy friendly recipe!

    Feeling Down

Try broth w/protein or Protein Water and then try going back, or to a new flavor. it took me over a week to start shakes again. Good luck!

    Hospital sleep tip!

Eye mask. Only thing that let me sleep!
  6. I would ask each referral if they are a part of a center of excellence. If you have to shop around anyway, might as well pick the best you can.

How long was it until you....

But will you be able to? That's the question I'm asking. I've been cleared for it for a week, and I physically can't do it. Sorry I didn't catch that. I have eaten a bite of broccoli and potatoes with no problems. I didn't eat more because not on that stage yet. But I have not really had nausea except for one broth that I think was too fatty. I guess it can all be individual and you have to keep trying different things if something doesn't work. My nut says that tastes can change and you can dislike something or not tolerate but try again later.

How long was it until you....

I get to start a small amount of select cooked veggies during my next phase --mushy phase aka purée stage -- starting Monday at 3 weeks post op.
  9. So sorry and very peculiar. I would imagine that the past work will be counted for you, but would look for a group practice under your insurance if possible.
  10. I just tried ice cold water, crushed ice, unflavored isopure and 4 "true lime" (powered lime no sugars) packets. Very good and not bad for 25g protein.
  11. Post op. I couldn't do shakes after day 1 and the premier vanilla I still can't think about eating. But I was able to get back on some shakes, basically after getting sick of broth and protein powder only. I think comes and goes but mix it up as much as you can between the waters, shakes and broth.
  12. Calcium chews. They look like bariatric advantage brand chocolate and caramel.
  13. Check out this thread for fellow late June sleepers: http://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/370515-late-june-sleeve-buddies/page-30#entry4205337
  14. Isopure unflavored is 25g per scoop good to know unjury is a favorite of some. I had more pain in first few days, more discomfort that pain. Thankfully mood is only thing that I think is improved maybe because a bit tired at first. Now energy is good I agree with others moving is key. I have been doing some light cleaning/reorganizing that I have been putting off. I am not looking forward to return to office tomorrow though!
  15. Congrats! What a powerful role model!
  16. Stop talking about eggs So jealous! I would never have guessed I would crave an egg so much! I had to do Isopure Water and Protein broth for first week post op because after one day I couldn't tolerate the shakes. I just got back on a morning Protein shake but still can't think about drinking vanilla yet. My 2 week check in is tomorrow. I too have nibble a few small things. So far luckily no problems. I am 65 G protein and that is hard. I can't imagine how one would get in 100g right now!

    Calling all June '16 sleevers!

Isopure unflavored. I am leery of genepro after looking at their website.
  18. I am so glad I am not the only one that has taken a nibble on something! Granted it has been one bite and it is filling but I did have bite of chicken salads and cheese. Good luck to everyone tomorrow! I am staying home with dogs!

    Sleeping position?

I am typically a side sleeper but this was not always comfortable post surgery. I am sleeping with 2 temper pedic pillows to be a by more elevated and I have a large floor poof/pillow under my legs. I did this after a couple of restless nights where I almost moved to chair because I would nap with legs up in chair but couldn't get to sleep in bed.

    Work

I took one off and one short week work from home. I could have gone to work week 2 vsg no hernia. But I needed rest and ability to get comfortable when needed. I will be out of office just over two weeks when I return. Some people go right back, I say take as much as you can financially and professionally afford!

    Best tasting broth?

Whole foods had some bone broth pouches in refrigerated section. Each was about 3 post op servings so I splurged. They were I think $5. One was pho and the other was ginger coconut. Both were very good with Protein powder. I am going back for more. I just don't want to spend time cooking in kitchen. I also like Campbell's beef consume.
  22. Wasn't July 4th event but was a community cook out about 4 days post op. I just went a little late and carried bottle of water with me. No one seemed to notice or say anything.
  23. I am so hungry and over this liquid!!! I am day I can't even remember -- ok day 11 post op. I think I get to start some extra items like yogurt and creamy Soup after nut on Tuesday. Dreaming of burgers. But also better fitting clothes... Sigh.

    Mixing protein powder

Isopure unflavored in plain water wasn't bad. I prefer it in broth.
  25. My husband was there went I went in but after I really just wanted sleep and focus on steps to get me out. I did not want anyone there.
