I would stick to the meds and work with your doc on approved diet. I see any pasta as a possibly never food unless whole grain and then only at maitenance. I also know that anything too fatty made me nauseous.

So was not trying to judge but share something that does make me uncomfortable. I mostly like our gym and have been going for quite sometime which is why I am familiar with her. It is more like it strikes me now how I am trying to move past a problem on other extreme and her is someone clearly (because yes it is clear) damaging themselves on the other extreme -- and one that is (mostly) socially acceptable. Was me being petty I guess not trying to bash gyms or eating disorders. Rant over.

It can be hard but I found rest the best cure and that was harder to come by in noisy hospital. Maybe do a phone check in with your team? I was surprised to have a nurse from my insurance plan check in with me and offer a home visit.

Pot kettle I guess. I am not going to diagnose her but seeing someone workout for hours when they are literally a skeleton with skin is challenging. So I was posting in rants and raves because I am ranting. And I never said was a perfect being. It is my struggle and I shared it.

Protein broth kept me going. And I was discharged with only one night stay.
-
I had that pain as well. Take care and it went away!

I think I felt worse on day 4 or 5 than day 1 post op. Try to focus on shakes as your Protein and Water. Heating pad, pillow against stomach for sitting up and walk walk walk as much as possible. it gets better! Good luck!

Yeah I did the MoM once or twice but had one "event" where had to use an enema. Not pleasant. Since then I have benefiber every day in my Water. every. day. do not want to repeat that ever!

I agree with skipping the black shoes, even a brown or grey would mix it up. But if you can find one what about a strappy silver? As with hospital, DON"T OVER PACK. You can use a tiny small, cute clutch (love the ones posted). Only need maybe ID, a credit card, lipstick, and phone. If you want security of more stuff bring your larger purse and leave in car/room. If really small on table is fine, or lap. Sometimes I would put a small clutch behind me if the chair was secure.

Late June Sleeve Buddies?
chycky replied to Maggie143's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@ShelterDog64 If I have Soup i only get 4 oz, I would rather the 2 oz of chewable food, so expanding my soup options was not exciting to me. I was told no caffeine for healing and because it can make you dehydrated when it is already hard to get liquids in. So, I get caffeine and real food back at 8 week post op I am trying to have a different Protein every day for dinner and usually use leftover for lunch. One item I have loved was from Whole Foods, it is Koch brand turkey breast, thin sliced and marinated in barbeque sauce (which mostly gets cooked away or discarded). The thin slices of breast cook in skillet, 6 min each side. Very tender and a nice change. chicken kabob with tumeric was nice. Spices can change things a lot. I love tumeric in eggs. Cherries have been a nice addition to meal as I try to have a least one meal include a veg or fruit. -

Vitamin Patches vs Vitamins
chycky replied to CaliGirl77's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ask your surgical team. Mine did not permit as they said there is conflicting evidence on whether medication is absorbed effectively in people who are overweight. I WISH I had an alternative for the multi Vitamin or B50 but only a couple of more weeks until I can swallow pills again! -
I would agree that saying you are on a high Protein diet is a good excuse. I doubt you will have to tell anyone other than the waiter. I do a lot of events, and people's dietary issues make it something that most menus can accommodate. If you happen to luck out because of over-dressed pre-plated items, soup is a good alternative or just eat the protein on your plate. Breakfast I would look for yogurt.

Week 3 - purée stage - how do u know when to stop ?
chycky replied to pnt38's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My nut gave me guidelines to help, and one egg was a serving. I am on 2 oz meals. I weigh, I also purchased a lot of 2oz size plastic cups with lids to make meals easier to prepare or measure food on the spur of the moment. My biggest problem is not eating too fast, it is uncomfortable, so I go slow, small bites. Good luck! -

I would only add that I would hope "wrongdoers" includes those who flip out about bullying when you tell them not to eat pop rocks and coke post-op.....with a straw -

Late June Sleeve Buddies?
chycky replied to Maggie143's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'll take the sunshine every stage as negativity and/or scare tactics just don't work for me. Sorry you didn't get the accolades you deserve. My surgeon and his staff are very upbeat, helpful and hands on. The surgeon sees his patients for all appointments and will call his patients directly if they want. It is a small office and they make your experience personal. The staff has been very good at sharing their personal journeys with wls which has been helpful. Next time let her know that you are very proud of your accomplishments! Thank you! I am cleared for gym and on day 2 of that. So far so good! -
Raw Oysters & Sashimi
chycky replied to LowBMISleever's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My plan allowed fish -raw or cooked as a soft food and I had sashimi as soon as I could start soft foods (2 weeks post-op). It went fine, I ate it with the ginger and low sodium soy sauce. I could only eat 2oz so about 2 1/2 pieces of tuna or salmon. I also had steamed lobster. I don't like cooked fish so have not tried. I can have oysters and other shellfish as well, but obviously have to chew. I am open to this but not sure how much I will enjoy chewing oyster as opposed to normal way of eating them raw. I may try on vaca soon. -
I slept in bed but first couple weeks not as comfortable. I found that I had to be more propped up at my head than I would have normally found comfortable. The biggest help for me was having a large pillow/ottoman under my legs and a heating bad! Made all the difference in my comfort level and brought my sleep back to normal. Still use them now as well though back to normal on head pillows. Also, before surgery I had used and loved this app called "Sleep Well" if you pay for it you get more flexibility in background noise, length of sounds, etc. It is basically a relaxation piece that has nature sounds in background. I am usually out for the count after about 2 minutes.

I can't speak to having gone through this, but I can share the products that I have looked into for both prevention (arguable if possible) and restoration. I am using all or some now to at least contribute to thicker hair so IF i lose it, maybe it won't be so dramatic. There are a couple of good you tubers that discuss this topic as well if you search. First, Biotin seems to be relatively accepted as "possibly" helping. Collagen and Keratin seem to have less research, but from my perspective what can it hurt? These items I would suspect have more to do we helping regrowth: PHYTO has stress/weight loss hair serum, Pure d'or Hair thinning shampoo, and rogain for women. Good luck!

Late June Sleeve Buddies?
chycky replied to Maggie143's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@ShelterDog64 Thank you! I guess it was a bit touchy for me since she has also gone through WLS as well. I think my surgeon's office is ultra conservative/scare tactics as it relates to paving the way for success/failure prevention. On the one hand, I get it and I don't want to be coddled. I need to be afraid of slipping into habits that led to my problems because surgery does not prevent future weight gain. On the other hand, at early stage I kind of need a little more sunshine up my @ss so to speak. -
Late June Sleeve Buddies?
chycky replied to Maggie143's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello 6 weeks here. Been feeling good and good with water and protein. Had an appointment and I feel like my nurse was no as please with 40lbs down (26 since surgery). She was like it is ok you should drop it much faster when you get back to exercising. I hope so but it was kind of a downer. The nut was more pleased so that helped. -
Well, for the Oikos label I shared, I am eating less than 1/2 a serving at my 2oz meal so I am well below 5g of sugar. I think the "powerful yogur" would be similar. Most yogurt labels are for entire container, and that is well above my serving size. So these make for a good protein punch and low sugar.
