Your last comment about watching other people live their lives solidified my decision. My friend who agreed to go with me to Mexico backed out just now because she said it's too risky. I hung up the phone and cried my eyes out saying to myself why does everyone else get to live and not me...I came on this sight and read this comment. I have zero support. ZERO. Has anyone gained before there surgery? I haven't been scheduled yet but since I decided to get the vsg I've managed to put on a few pounds. I think the knowledge that I am getting the operation has intensified my desire to inhale as much food as possible. I'm self pay so I don't have all the hoops to go through before I get the procedure (I.e., psych eval.) I'm beginning to think I need to see a psychologist anyway to address my eating behaviors which are not very healthy in many ways. Has anyone else experienced the gaining before surgery? I wouldve been so mad about that. You told her and she told everyone else. Thats why i havent told anyone. Im going to the gym, and thats all they need to know. Well I usually tell ppl everything. I have a big mouth and wear my heart on my sleeve. Its probably been a blessing and a curse for me. But I can tell you this, at this time (pre-op) I've decided to not tell anyone. Especially the guys I work with. I'm one of two women in my office. I would be embarrassed to tell them. Maybe I will feel different after the surgery (but I doubt it.) I plan on telling them I'm just having a procedure. Then, when I start losing, I will say I'm seeing a nutritionist which will be true. I work around very nice men but it's really none of their business! The only ppl who know are my sister and her husband and my mother and 3 of my closest friends. We shall see how fast the word gets around even with my attempts at secrecy. My sister has already discussed my surgery with a co-worker. We live in a small town...lol. I am hopefully getting vsg in August (not scheduled yet.). My concern is that I've lost 130 lbs on my own without surgery in the past. I've since put back on half of that amount. Nothing I did to lose weight before works now so I decided to get sleeved. Will I have the same problem as the ppl who are 2-3 years out and not lose after surgery? Hello everyone, I'm new to this group. Just started the process of vsg. Making an appointment after my passport arrives with Dr. Fernando Garcia. Very nervous! My family is NOT on board with me flying to Mexico for surgery. I'm going anyway. CW 244 goal weight is 150. Height 5'6". 44 years old. Just wanted to see if there are any women my age that are undergoing the same procedure or gave done so. Is it harder for a women in her 40's to recover from surgery does age affect the success?
