  1. I agree. I had gallstones. This aint it. Everything I read says its related to simple carbs. But it's usually only in the morning, and it doesn't seem to matter what I eat. So decided I just need to delay when I have breakfast, and just had tea before work, and I still got it from that. Guess I should just avoid any intake for a couple of hours after getting up.
  2. Hi all - I had gastric sleeve surgery 2/5 years ago. For the past few months I have been having dumping syndrome. The reading I have done all says that it comes from eating simple carbs. And if I do eat cookies (my main downfall in life) I tend to get it. But I will get it when eating non-simple carbs. For instance, this morning I had a egg for breakfast and had a fairly bad "attack". It seems to be more of an issue in the morning, than other times of the day. Has anyone experiencing dumping syndrome found ways of preventing it? Thanks
  3. Nope, not a gallbladder attack - BTDT, and the gallbladder and I have parted ways (a year or two before the gastric sleeve). Talked to doctor. He just suggested avoiding simple carbs. Congrats on the 100+ lbs weight loss BTW.
  4. I haven't actually been around for a while, and my last (and only) status update was in May. I wanted to change my ticker, weight lost, and add new pictures to my profile and can't figure out how. Any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks.
  5. Hi - I am Canadian and had a gastric sleeve done in March 2016 in Mexico. Has any Canadian here claimed their surgery as a medical expense?
  6. Hi - I had my Gastric Sleeve March 16. When I have started new phases - sehn soft food was introduced and when solids were introduced I had nausea and vomiting. I also have a hard time remembering not to drink close to meals (been doing it for 52 years, old habits die hard), and when I do forget and end up throwing up. The the last couple of days I have been having nausea and vomiting without having eaten too much or having drunk anything close to my meals. Should I be concerned? Is the nausea something I am going to have to simply get used to? Will I ever be able to drink close to meals?

    Feeling like a Failure

Hi - I had my surgery in March and after a few weeks I hit a plateau and posted a very similar complaint. I thought I had gone and wasted $10,000 that I didn't have. I am now 2.5 months post opt. I thought I would have lost more by now but I have lost 34 lbs. When I posted about my weight being stuck, everyone said the same thing - ignore the scale and keep on keeping on. They were right. So keep on keeping on and expect plateau's along the way. They don't last.
