    Feel weak!

I'm 4 weeks out of surgery and am raring to get in the gym and lift some weights, the only thing is I feel like I've lost my strength, it's obviously because I can't eat much but will it come back eventually? How long did any of the guys wait before they got in the gym? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Low BMI Gastric Sleeve story

One thing about this surgery is 99% of people you speak too say it's the best thing they ever done and there only regret is they never done it sooner, my bmi was 35 with no health problems but I had been obease my entire adult life and as I hit 30 it became even harder to shift the weight, I basically yo yo dieted for 12 years and then decided to take action due to there being a history of heart attacks and diabetes in my family, I'm now 4 weeks out and I must say I'm finding it hard but every1 does early doors, people who are 2 years out find it really easy because there not as restricted as other surgery you can basically live a normal life with this tool helping you to keep the weight off, my biggest problem was my portion sizes, I could eat a mountain of food before I was satisfied. Non carbonated drinks?

Yes my bariatric team allow it too but there's certain people on this forum that think they no more than my professional team, just look at a few of the comments above, they must have a degree in weight loss surgery the way they start pointing the finger, simple question and alls I want is a few ideas for non fizzy drinks and you get morons telling me I shouldn't be doing it, it won't be excessive drinking just 1 or 2 to be sociable Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Long term vsg food consumption

Yes I think he might of been eating larger portions for some time and maybe stretched his sleeve, my bariatric team said it's possible to stretch if you don't stick to the plan. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  10. Only 2 weeks mate, feeling the blues, I was the same as you, no sweet tooth just a big eater and the change in portion size is hard to get my head around, the fact that I probably won't be able to finish a sandwich ever again has scared me a bit, how are you managing with that side of things mentally? 11. I had my surgery 2 weeks ago in Liverpool, England, physically I feel great am 2 half stone down from 19half and feel much better on my feet, I've struggled with my weight my entire adult life so for my health I decided with this after months of thinking about it. After the surgery I had the blues and couldn't stop thinking about the 80% of my stomach being removed thing which I was ok with before the op but really hit me when it was done afterwards, it made me feel like I had disabled myself somehow and paid 8half grand for the privilege, also can't get my head around the eating tiny meals which again I was fine with pre surgery as I was concentrating on the losing weight side of things! Any guys out there who experienced the same thing in the early days and have got use to it as time passes? Need some support, where I live the sleeve is almost unheard of so there's not really anyone I can speak too. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  13. I was watching vsg journey vids on YouTube and came across a guy from Chicago that is 2half years out and can now eat a steak meal, and I'm talking a 10oz steak with baked potato and veg, how is that possible? Also seen the DR weinman vid and he said research shows after 5 years bariatric patients can eat a full plate of food, any veterans out there who can confirm this?
