Tell him the truth, that you're on a doctor managed weight loss program. That's what I tell people, and they accept it for what it is. I tell them I'm keeping calories to under 1k per day, and I use the vitamins, protein drinks, and bars for the nutrition benefits. All people want is a reasonable explanation they can believe.

CALLING ALL JULY 2016 SLEEVERS

Well, 18 days post op, and finally getting some energy back. This surgery is hard on an old fart. Had my first Mexican food today. Made 4 quick and dirty cheese enchiladas and ate one. Heavenly. Before, I would've snarfed all four down, but 1 was definitely enough. Down from 275 to 240, but it hasn't changed in 4 days. Guess I hit a 'stall'. -
2 weeks today since I had WLS and I've felt weak and tired the whole time. I can hardly make myself take a walk. I'm taking vitamins and protein, but 64 ounces of water is hard, because of the 1-1/2 hours without water for meals. Anyone else experiencing this problem?

When I was a kid a bottle of Coke was 6-1/2 ounces. Now a bottle or can is 12 ounces, or 16, or 24.

My kids and wife know, plus one good friend. No one else needs to. Anyone asks, "I'm on a Dr. supervised weight loss plan.". Which is completely true. -

Swamprat replied to Tresa Embil's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
2 days post-op now. Abdomen still pumped up like a balloon. Getting up from the bed is nightmarish. I can't take any more of that foul broth, so water is my friend. The stomach brace is my other friend. Make sure you have one before srgy, you won't regret it. Looks like going home today. Good luck to you all. Chuck -
CALLING ALL JULY 2016 SLEEVERS
Swamprat replied to Tresa Embil's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had mine at 2 PM yesterday and the srgn fixed a hiatal hernia that I have had since my early 20's.. It's now been 24 hrs since. The only problem I have had is the awful pain in the abdomen from all the gas they pumped in for the surgery. Hoping to go home tomorrow. Working on liquids Chuck -

Good for you. I'm 71 and scheduled for 7-11. Really excited for this. I expect it to help with several medical problems I have.
-
That is truly fantastic. Be proud of yourself. I'm to start the pre-op on 6-28. but I'm getting a head start on it. I'm supposed to have 4-5 shakes/day and a lean evening meal (meat and a green veg), then of course 2 days clear liquid before the event.

Hi, I'm about 10 miles N. of Hawkins, looking at srgy on 7-11. Beginning to get excited.
