Exercise for Very Overweight Bandsters
Angelyco replied to Fenton's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I just wanted to let you all know that I tried one of the Leslie Sansone "Walk Away the Pounds" videos and I LOVED IT! FINALLY, a workout I can keep up with. It's so simple but I still felt like I was getting a good workout. I had to stop after about a mile and a half because my muscles were getting sore, which feels much better than having to stop from exhaustion! -
I'm getting banded June 12th!

Congrats on the surgery date and good luck!

My program doesn't require a pre-op diet, but I'm going to do one on my own (and my dietician approved it). I'm going to do 2 protein shakes and a small dinner every day for the 2 weeks before. My surgery date is June 12th so I'm starting the diet on May 29th.

Upper Gi !?!?!?!?!?!?!
Angelyco replied to AppleBottom's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
For some reason, everytime someone says they had to do the Upper GI, I was thinking of when they put the scope down your throat, and I was REALLY nervous about it in those terms. Thanks for clearing that up! -

Angelyco replied to Angelyco's topic in The Gals' Room
Oops, I'm about 5'6. Maybe I'm just positioning wrong--I basically try to sit on my knees over him and it just doesn't work How do you all put your legs? -
Exercise for Very Overweight Bandsters
Angelyco replied to Fenton's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Thank you for recommending this! I bought this DVD pack from Circuit City that has 10 different workout programs on it, but I can't keep up with them yet. I'm looking forward to trying something a little easier to start with. -
Holy crap--there is ALOT of difference in only 2 months. Good job!

What kind of cheap food or meals you eat?
Angelyco replied to vessa's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
This sounds REALLY good. Can you try to find out if it's mayo or sour cream (I would assume it's sour cream, I've heard of similar recipes)? Also, I don't have a crockpot, so do you think this could be made in a pot on the stove if the chicken is cooked beforehand? -
All This Free Time! What to do?!
Angelyco replied to charlygirl08's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Since you have 2 dogs, I'm assuming you are a dog person in general, so maybe look into volunteering at an animal shelter? I wish I had time to volunteer at one myself, but the one by me is only open when I'm already at work. -
There is actually a forum just for our guys on the site here: The Men's Room - Lap Band Talk Forum - The largest forum for Lap Band Surgery Discussion and Lap Band Surgery Support - The Men's Room Welcome and good luck!

Are There ANY Eastern Iowa Bandsters?
Angelyco replied to NINNYED's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I never had them as teachers, but I know who they are. Wow, both are your siblings, that's crazy! Small world! -
Have you had a fill lately? You might need one to get restriction again.

I went to Western Dubuque for 1st-11th grade, then finished my senior year at Hempstead. -

Hi all! I know this thread has been inactive for awhile, but I lived in Dubuque and Dyersville my whole life until last year when I picked up and moved to NY. My family is still in Dubuque and I still feel like an Iowan at heart -
Oh my goodness...if I could rid the world if 30 Paris Hiltons along my journey, the band is TOTALLY worth it!

I have almost 300 pounds to lose to get to 150...Right now I'm basically 3 people and I have to lose 2 of them! How's that for daunting?
-
I don't know if I'm nervous or what, but I keep thinking that this surgery isn't going to happen. I keep thinking that I won't follow through and get everything done, that I'll keep postponing my appointments and won't schedule a date, I don't know. I told my fiance about this and he said that he won't let me just forget about it because he knows how much I want this. I think I'm afraid I'll go through with this, spend all the money, and it won't work. I'm not miserable with my fat self, so it's not like it's desperation that I want the surgery, but I know I need to stop gaining weight and move downward. It's a strange feeling that I'm at right now.

255 lbs to lose. Can it be done?
Angelyco replied to hopefulmom25's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I think I'm the only one who's NOT afraid of being put to sleep Ogre, thank you so much for the inspiration. -
wondering if others have noticed this?
Angelyco replied to marineliebe's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
So far of the people I've told at work that I'm getting the Lap-Band, only one person was really against it, and she's the second heaviest in the company (but she's still not huge, maybe around 200-220?). Everyone else has been really supportive and curious about how it works, what I'll be able to eat, etc. The only person I'll ever refuse to tell is my mom (who is thin), because I won't get any support from here, been there, done that, and partially blame her for my last weight loss attempt failing horribly. -
Things I won't/don't miss about being Obese
Angelyco replied to MissWilde's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh God, I feel awful everytime they do that with the BP cuff. And they always have to act so annoyed that they have to switch it! -
I was never a fast food junkie until the last few years, I know it's one habit I need to break NOW.

I have almost 300 to lose...I was joking with my fiance saying I should set my goal for 144 just to make it an even 300
