I was too, I also have pretty thin hair. I took biotin and my calories have steadily moved towards a more normal level. My hair loss started around Month 4 and is still happening. I don't really have any patchy areas yet and I have noticed baby hairs in the front. Hopefully yours won't be too bad either. ๐

Son with autism afraid he might accidentally hurt me
Ldyvenus replied to Zadruga's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My incisions hurt for about 3 weeks. You will have to be extra vigilant, maybe cover with a pillow? -
It makes your stomach cramp for some reason. Liquids go straight through the sleeve.

Make your self a protein shake and sip, sip, sip. Sound like your body needs some fuel.

Drinking With a Straw?
Ldyvenus replied to dgarcia27's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I started using a straw about a week out. I use a really big one, or two little ones. I get more fluid in that way. -
I was at the point where I was starting to get joint pain and just generally feeling uncomfortable in my own skin. Type 2 diabetes was on the horizon. It was these things that made me decide to go through with it. This has been the most effortless weight loss I've ever had, I can usually fight my way to a 30 pound loss. But now, I would literally have to eat little bits of junk all day, to get around this fantastic tool. But the (empty feeling) stomach hunger is gone, so the motivation to constantly eat is also gone.

3 months post op - discouraged
Ldyvenus replied to New Me 31317's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I have also tried to keep my calories a bit higher. I thought it would keep the hair loss at bay. No such luck, but my loss is pretty steady, stalls included. I am a huge fan of peanut butter, but with the sleeve 1 tsp. on a piece of wheat toast hits the spot. ๐ -
Any tips/tricks for getting all that water in?
Ldyvenus replied to Honeypenny's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Water still hurts if I get carried away. I have a big cup (32oz) that I fill with iced tea 2x a day. -

Surgery in Mexico, timeline? Wait till fall, or go for it now?
Ldyvenus replied to BDutchess's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I actually postponed my original date last October. But everything was booked and paid for. So me and hubby went and enjoyed ourselves. There was a lot of drinking involved. ๐ So if you are not a huge fan of alcohol, I say go for it! -

Dr and nutritionist on different wavelengths.
Ldyvenus replied to lizpuller's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Also. Aside from metabolism etc. Protein is heavy, it seems to sit longer and fill you up faster. So it just makes sense long term, to make it the main part of your meals. -
Try searching WLS or the name of the surgery you are getting in the search bar. You can also type a Youtuber's name in the search as well. I currently follow: VSGprettysleeved, SJs Journey, Drea VSG, and faithkp; to name a few.

I used provolone, frozen meatballs, and marinara. It was pretty good, the kids ate it. ๐ -

I lived on Wonton soup for a week straight. 2oz broth and one wonton smashed up. It was really good. -
I always told hubby I want new boobs for my 40th. Maybe I'll add a tummy tuck now too. ๐

From the album: A Few of my Favorite Things
I found to these at Sobey's, I'm not a fan of protein bars but they looked good. I guess they could be substituted for a chocolate bar in a moment of weakness. ๐คThey have 22g of protein for the entire bar. -

This is my new "fast food" add a salad, and dinner is ready in 5 min. -
From the album: A Few of my Favorite Things
I found these at Costco the other day. I am usually cautious about precooked meat. It is usually poor quality or weird tasting. These are really good though! -
I've noticed that I feel full longer now, not Thanksgiving full, just content. It lasts for a few hours. Before surgery I hardly ever felt satisfied. I drink 30 min after eating which probably helps.

Raw Veggies Coming Soon! Cannot wait
Ldyvenus replied to Kiwi_N_Rio's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I love to eat cauliflower and broccoli with a bit of ranch dip. I can only eat a couple "trees" but it is a yummy little snack with very few calories. -
You need a therapist and nutritionist ASAP! This is a lifelong commitment, I am an emotional eater and struggle with it daily. Therapy has given me some insight, but when I'm really stressed out, it's hard. You can eat after surgery, you have to make a conscious decision to choose the right thing.

That was no loss. You just scared a shallow immature little boy away. There are better men out there.
