1 1/2 years out and had a reality check
Ldyvenus replied to grandmaofone's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
You look awesome! -
The feelings are normal . It has been said that the sleeve is a tool to help you keep yourself in check. You are still ultimately in control. Good luck, hopefully you will feel better by the time you hit 199.

I booked myself through Dr. Joya's nutritionist Nathalie. There is a quick form to fill out on the website. -
Self Payers in Mexico
Ldyvenus replied to I'm Changing 4 Me's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I will be going to Dr. Joya in Puerto Vallarta next month. It is $5000 for everything but the flight. I liked the idea of Puerto Vallarta because I don't have to drive across the U.S. border, I also got lucky with a non stop flight home. -
Treated Differently After Your Surgery?
Ldyvenus replied to tearsofapache's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I have recently been on an airplane, and was given the "Oh please not next to me" look. It was a first for me, I can buckle without an extender, it hurt my feels. Other than that... I am pretty much invisible. -
After care from Mx Surgery
Ldyvenus replied to Muñekita's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
My insurance has coverage for dietitian and psycologist. My plan is to make appointments with both, around the time I hit the mushy food stage. I would like to learn new coping mechanisms, and how to slowly change the whole family's eating habits. -
Can I lie - hernia op?
Ldyvenus replied to bossportsgal's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I told work it was a hiatal hernia. The recovery is similar, although I hate my job, so I want at least 4 weeks off. I think 3 weeks is where people start to feel somewhat better. -
Where is Lipstick Lady when I need her?
Ldyvenus replied to Odie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I hate this season too ESPECIALLY Christmas. I'd rather hibernate than deal with life! Sent from my Y538 using the BariatricPal App I wish we had this option. I feel pretty down during winter, I would love to sleep it off. -

Who is choosing to keep surgery a secret?
Ldyvenus replied to Kila Rass's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Work thinks it's a hiatal hernia. A few family members know the truth. I find it hard to lie, but I'm not really close to anybody at work, and I don't want any judgey stares or whispers. -
I had to push mine back from October because of a financing hiccup. I am now scheduled for Jan 24th. I can't believe how fast the time is going!

How about some baby powder?

I've been thinking about the same thing. My kiddos are younger,K we basically ned a new normal. I was thinking of starting early and making gradual changes, but if I knew where to start, I definitely wouldn't be here.

How much money to take
Ldyvenus replied to Apatterson1991b's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I was just there a few weeks ago. Everything at Walmart is similarly priced. Booze and cigs are really cheap. You may have to buy a script while you are there. I would say at least $100 for incidentals. -
FMLA and Short-term disability

In House Financing?
Ldyvenus replied to canadian_girl's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I am using Medicredit for Dr. Joya, in Puerto Vallarta. It takes a few weeks, they will confirm with the doctors office and send you a check. In order to get a bank draft; the funds have to sit in the bank for 5 days. The interest rates are not awesome; and you definitely have to pre plan. But, it is another option. -
I started at 12mg, I am now at 3mg. I will drop to 0mg 1 week before surgery. The first week of vaping was the hardest for me, and the only issue I have had is a dry mouth, so I just drink more water.
-
Hell yes! I switched to vaping a year ago. I don't want to quit, this is my compromise. I love it.

How much time did you take off work?
Ldyvenus replied to Jadane_dm's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

Eek! I just sat down with my boss to discuss time off for surgery. He asked, and I said hiatal hernia.

Not even in a pinch?

I've been shopping with this mentality lately. What the heck am I going to feed the whole family? I am trying to find an alternative to chips, we've got more beef jerky in the house now (is that even healthy) I am terrified of failure and having food funerals at the same time (fave restaurants). I think this is the process of becoming a mindful eater and choosing a healthier you...????
