Therapy after sleeve
Ldyvenus replied to Sugarnspice's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am currently trying to find a psychologist. I sent info to one, no reply yet... I am limited to what my ins. will cover and finding someone who specializes in disordered eating. -
I have been tracking my intake to make sure I am getting a decent amount of protein. I have realized that even cottage cheese has carbs! So I keep going over. What should I be taking in? I've got MFP set at 500 cal, 70% protein, 20% fat, 10% carbs.

How do I delete a double post??
-
I wanted something more filling a few days post op also. Maybe you are ready to try yogurt or a few sips of protein shake?
-
I love mine too. I was getting frustrated with thick foamy blender shakes.

Anyone else afraid this is temporary?
Ldyvenus replied to ryan_86's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree with @@blizair09 My isues post op are more apparent now that my body doesn't really care. I will be visiting both a psych and a dietitian. I also think some regain is expected and the surgery was never meant to get all of us to our perfect weight., just a healthier weight. -
Hi Ivy, I have the exact same job. I asked for 4 weeks, but I honestly think I could go back Monday after only 2 weeks off. My recovery has been uneventful, I feel pretty much normal.

Reasonable caloric intake one-week post-op?
Ldyvenus replied to anonmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've read between 300 and 600 for the first 2 months. -
Do you ever feel like this is it?!
Ldyvenus replied to mzzmisty's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Me and you are exactly the same weight for starting. My goal weight is 185 lbs. I haven't weighed 185 lbs. for about 13 years. I felt good at that weight, more confident. Enjoy the new you, and keep up the good work. The weight loss will come... -
Best place in Mexico?
Ldyvenus replied to whitneyisfab's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I just got back from Puerto Vallarta last week. I went with Dr. Joya. Everything went smoothly. -
Single incision versus multiple incisions
Ldyvenus replied to JR15's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
4 of my incisions are tiny, no bigger than a fingernail. The last one is probably almost an inch. I have a feeling they will be close to invisible 2 years from now. I agree with @@FindingCarrie 1 incision sounds gimmicky. -
Protein Shakes & what kind/Brand
Ldyvenus replied to CantStopMeNow's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have the vanilla premier mix, I find the texture slightly greasy. I have yet to find a way to make it yummy. I also have Syntrax Cappuccino for my morning coffee creation (still working on it). I like the Syntrax better so far. -
I bought wonton soup last week and froze 8 little ones for lunches, that worked well. I've also been trying to cook double the meat, so the next night you just add veggies and dinner is done. I've been trying to think of something to keep in the car as well. I would also love some more ideas on prep too.

protein drinks for someone 3 months post-op
Ldyvenus replied to RussT's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Seems like everybody has a protein shake nowadays. I did a double take when I saw a Gatorade chocolate protein shake this morning. I think the best ones have the least amount of sugar. -

We're you prescribed an antacid and an anti nausea medicine when you were discharged? -
Looking for people that had their surgery on January 24th or close to it.
Ldyvenus replied to Misty Barnhart's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think the bubbles are kinda funny. I am now a week post op and I feel really good. I was hoping for the weird taste/smell issue, but so far I am doing well. Makes me wonder if I will lose much weight. I have started tracking on My Fitness Pal, just to get into the habit of doing it. Has anybody paid for premium MFP? I'm not sure it's worth an extra $12 monthly. My biggest issue now is my head hunger. I am looking to get into some kind of therapy that wont break the bank, because I can tell now, I have a real problem that needs to be sorted out during this honey moon phase. -
Did you have to quit smoking for WLS?
Ldyvenus replied to lf1227's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I switched to vaping over a year ago. I cut myself down to 3mg of nicotine, zero before surgery. I am a smoker, I enjoy it, I don't know if vaping is better or worse, and I don't care. I will go back up to 3mg after about a month. -

I found this at the store yesterday. I was thinking of putting a dab on top of my jello. I think it may also come in handy later on when there are chocolate cravings. -
***Soups after surgery***
Ldyvenus replied to KendraLynne's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My plan has me on clear for the first week. I was thinking of getting some Won ton soup and straining it. -

I'm headed to the store for some popsicles myself. I just cried while making my kiddo cereal. Frosted flakes have never looked so good. -
