From one food addict to another... You already know what's on your current road. Most likely it's a road that leads to misery and an unhealthy way of life. Take the road less traveled. Fear of the unknown just stops you from experiencing life to the fullest.

Wear cotton made tops that are loose fitting and comfortable. I pretty much wore only PJs the first few days.

Use a strainer.

the chicken broth only. I still made meals for my family with the chicken and veggies used to make the broth. It tasted Waaaaay better than any store bought soup or broth.

Homemade chicken broth was my favorite during that stage. I saved the left over chicken and made chicken salad one night and chicken shredded tacos the next night for my family.

I'm sure many will disagree and that's totally fine with me.... However, for me personally...wls has been the easiest way out. I've had food addiction most of my adult life and without forcefully being restricted from food was the only thing that could save me from myself. A food addiction is probably the most difficult type of addiction to overcome. Mainly because you just can't stay away from food completely. A crackhead has a better chance of recovery because they just have to stay away from the crack house or people that are enablers. I lost 70 lbs on my own before wls and I can tell you that it was hands down far more difficult than the wls. I worked out 2 hours almost everyday and was eating lean small meals.I was very non social cause there was no way I had enough will power to not indulge while eating with friends. I felt great, but I was miserable and always hungry. After a life long of yo-yo dieting, I knew wls was the only way out of that addiction. I'm sure if there was a surgery that could help crackheads stop being crackheads ,I would definitely never discourage them from taking the easy way out. Who really cares as long as their finally healthy and whole again. I'm proud to admit this has been the easiest way out for me.

Inner surfer girl is right. Move your arms up and down and walk as much as you can. The more you stay active, the faster the gas goes away.

Conflicted- Holding off Surgery for work?
B1essed1 replied to sassysleeved's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Everyone is dispensable when it comes to a job. Your job will fire you and not care that you have a family to take care of. If you die, your job would replace you but your family will be forever changed and you are irreplaceable to them. Your husband is wise. -
Sugar free popsicles from Walmart are my best friend! I now stay hydrated at all times.

I meant to say 4 th week Post Op
B1essed1 replied to singinshell's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm 5 weeks post op an can relate to drinking the protien shakes in this hot weather. Last week I put my premier vanilla shake in the freezer because I needed it to be super cold. Well, of course as the day progressed I forgot I had left it in the freezer. Took it out and it was frozen. So I decided to cut the pouch open to defrost it in the microwave. To my surprise, the shake froze to the same consistency as ice cream! So now I have ice cream protien treats every day. -
Does anyone know of a low calorie chewing gum brand? Most times I'm not hungry but just miss chewing on foods. Fat girl problems. Sent from my XT1080 using the BariatricPal App

You sound just like me! I went home on the same day of surgery. Most discomfort was that trapped gas. Virtually no pain. I was back to work on day 3 post op. It was like I didn't even have surgery. I was definitely blessed. ???? Sent from my XT1080 using the BariatricPal App -

Alone on this new journey.......
B1essed1 replied to Fettchick83's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It may not look like it, it may not feel like it, but I assure you .... This is a blessing in disguise. When you're truely loved unconditionally, no surgery or circumstance could make him stop loving you. If he's willing to take a chance on losing you to another man, then he's definitely not the one. I know this hurts so much right now but you will find the strength with in you to move past this. *Hugs* Sent from my XT1080 using the BariatricPal App -

Daily calories in protein shake phase
B1essed1 replied to jersey0601's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm pretty sure my metabolism has been wrecked for quit some time now. That's why I decided to do this surgury. My surgeon wants me to wait 3 weeks to make sure all the swelling is gone and my new stomach can handle solid foods with no issues. Everyone's different but I would still recommend you stick to what your doctor advises. Sent from my XT1080 using the BariatricPal App -
