Help! My parents and friends are skeptical!
goosefam replied to BabyPandaloup's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi , I just want to say that I had the surgery last June and like everyone says it's the best thing I ever did for myself. My one regret is that I didn't have the opportunity to do it early on in my life, I'm in my fifties. Excessive weight has ravaged my body and my health! My journey was so successful that my nephew just had the surgery and my son in law is scheduled in a few months. It will be the best present you give to yourself! If you have any questions, or if your family does, feel free to contact me. I would love to speak with them! Good luck. -
Ready to start mushy food this week

I am going to be 2 weeks 6/29. I'm not having any problems getting my liquids and Protein. Dying to taste real food again! My problem is that I don't feel that full. I have a 5oz. yogurt and feel like l could have another. Is this normal? I thought I was going to be too full to eat. If I would be told to eat 2oz of tuna tomorrow I would probably eat a whole can. Hi. Can anyone help me with this. I'm one week post op and have had some pretty bad and annoying diarrhea for three straight days now. Is this because liquid in liquid out? I finally seem to be getting my liquids in but now right out. Thanks for your help. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using the BariatricPal App

Hi everyone. I've crossed over and made the decision to do this. I'm now wondering if it was the right move. I have very little discomfort but I just can't drink! I worry that I will become dehydrated. Does it get better? I have no hunger whatsoever just can't get anything in. No nausea, little pain but very weak. Is this normal? Hi, I'm a 57 yr. old male who has gone through all the necessary preparations and was very excited. I've had to wait a while for my surgery because my cardiologist wanted me to wait a full year before coming off my blood thinners. Today is 2 weeks before my surgery date of 6/14 and I have been having doubt's all day. I really need this surgery because of so many health problems. I'm just worried about complications. I don't think l could take many more setbacks, it's been a rough 2 years for me. 2 knee surgeries and a mild heart attack. Is this common? Has anyone had these second thoughts? Will it change? Thanks. You are right. The other day I made a list and it's not even close! So many more positives than negatives. Today I'm going for my final pre op testing and I'm feeling a bit more confident. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using the BariatricPal App -

Thanks for your kind words. I do agree with you. I'm a new first time grandfather and complications from my obesity would surely cut my life short. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using the BariatricPal App -

Thank you for the encouragement. I look forward to the benefits of the surgery. They certainty outweigh the risks. Guess I should stop second guessing myself. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using the BariatricPal App -

I'm not a pro on this but we are told to go to support groups and such and we have specialist's to speak to. A fear of mine, surgery date 6/14, is leaving my wife to fend for herself while I will hardly be eating. Have you and your husband continued to meet for lunch? Did he take a back seat to your WLS needs? Just saying, I know I need to concentrate on me when I have the surgery but I have to worry about not forgetting my wife as eating dinner is our social time. I hope things work out for the best.
