Jini, DO you feel o.k? I don't. My incisions still hurt, and I just feel weird if that makes sense. I sometimes get what I call aggravation, and gas and pain after eating, and I stop because I am scared. But I still feel hungry after I stop. I am scared I will fail too. I think that we might be doing a lot of this "mentally" to ourselves.

I am newly banded, and I have recently drifted to I wish land. During Thanksgiving when I lied to everyone and told them that I had Acid Reflux and couldn't eat anything, I hated it. And when I tried t drink a Margarita 1 week and 1 day after surgery, because all my friends were, I hated it. (DON"T do that.) But I have goals and they had not seemed attainable until now, so I am holding on. Besides, it is in there now.

I feel just like you. I have an appetite and I feel like I am eating too much. I have lost 14 lbs, but that was in the first 5 days, and I haven't lost anything since. My surgery date was the 16th when was yours?

I was self pay with Dr. Spivak. I used Capital One financing, and the payments are like $390 something for 5 years. If you can afford it, it is east to get approved. They always ask you if you have any supplemental income, and how much, and they don 't verify it. As long as ypuir credit is good you will get approved instantly. Dr. Spivak will schedule your appointment as soon as you are approved. It took me 2 weeks to get in.

The diets are so different with each doctor. I only had 2 days on liquids, and 4 weeks of mushies. I would have died on a week of liquids.

Well, not trying to scare you,but I think you must be informed on the ugly side as well, not everyone was fortunate enough to not have any pain. I also had to urinate before leaving. I couldn't perform (of course), so I had to have a cathether done!!!! Lovely huh? I was in so much pain that the cathether didn't even phase me! Yes, I was in pain. Left shoulder pain, port pain, and I felt like a stuffed turkey from all the gas that I had left in me, and they would not let me leave until I finished an entire bottle of water when I had absolutely no room in my new small little tummy.The moral of this story is.... I loved it!!!! I would do it all over again.

I have heard of people going in for a weighing with ankle weights on. Ever thought of a little deception? I was at a BMI of 36 and I have Aetna Insurance...so I just went self pay. But if there was a chance of me getting it paid for by insurance, I would have done anything.

I'm 24 years old, and I have consistently gained about 20 lbs a year since my freshmen year in college. I have tried every diet in the world, and after a year of being classified as infertile, I decided to spend the money that we would have spent on fertility treatments on me... This way, I still may have a chance at having a baby after I lose weight, but at least hat I won't have weight as another "issue" if I can't.

I am newly banded as well, and i had the worst gas pain and left shoulder pain that you could ever imagine. I feel a liitle better now, (4 days in) but now I have an occasional gas bubble that comes up the front. Kinda feels like what I would think acid reflux fells like. Does anyone out there know if i have a problem or is it really gas?

John Deer Girl... I was wondering if we went to high school together?? I think I ran into you at the seminar for Dr. Spivak on a Friday, and I had be thinking about you ever since. I was banded 3 days ago on Wednesday November 16th. Let me know if that is you because i stay right off of hwy 6 and we could get together foer support.
