You can have milk. But only if your new tummy can handle it. Start with skim. Maybe try adding a Protein chocolate powder to give it a try. Everyone is different. I am starting on Pure Protein tomorrow as I'll be day 5 post op. Sent from my iPhone -

Good luck Gina. You made a great choice to have surgery. It's a major surgery so we need to allow time to heal. I was also very shocked at how my body felt the first few days. I was sleeves on 6/1 and feel so much better each day! You can do it!!! Sent from my iPhone -

Have done whole 30 in the past. During the summer was awesome. CSA!!!!! Oh the things I was eating. Yum and fresh. I am only a few days post Opp so am going to stick to doc guidelines for a while. Once I know where I am at with portions and Protein needs I will definitely check it out. I think you'll be fine as long as you eat your protein first and don't get too crazy with your healthy fats. They say no smoothies but I think it would be fine as long as you can get that protein in there - maybe with almond butter. Mmmmm almond butter on apples. Sent from my iPhone

June 1st SLEEVERS! its almost that time. last day on the PRe-Op side
Sleeve it to Beaver replied to Womanvsmirror's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Feeling so much better each day. June 1 was a blur compared to today. I'm up and about around the house. Clear liquids until tomorrow when I add in Protein shakes. I sit away from my cups so I am forced to get up and drink them. Am supposed to get in 64 oz today. Napping will happen between sips. You watch me sip, sip. You watch me lay, lay. Wasn't sure if I'd ever make it past misery but finally I have. My clear liquids have been Water, Mio and Propel added to water, chicken broth and Jello. Didn't like jello at all. Excited to see doc on Tues and find out my new weight. I got my surgery weight mixed up. It's either 245.7 or 247.5. Either one is awesome. My SW goal was 250. I'm already passing some goals. Just think how amazing we will feel and look by the end of summer! Here's hoping for an extended summer! Sent from my iPhone -

Seeing everything at text book and then not experiencing it yourself is difficult. Am a 6/1 sleever and still am feeling recovery pretty hard. Definitely not as easy as other make it out to be. Going slow is ok. Will be back to normal in no time. Here's to your strength! Sent from my iPhone

Surgery weight was either 247.5 or 245.7. Can't remember. This means I lost about 10 pounds in two weeks before surgery. 6/7 is my postop with my surgeon. 6/10 I meet with primary physician. So will find out how much I'm down next week. Today is way better than yesterday and so on. I start back to work on Monday. But I should be good as I work from home. Sent from my iPhone -

What do I need to do w/insurance
Sleeve it to Beaver replied to bostonmama's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ask a lot of questions of your insurance. For example, mine required me to see a nutritionist but didn't pay for it. Ask not only about covering surgery bit your journey (tests, appts, programs) in getting there. Good luck! Sent from my iPhone -

You won't think so now but it will fly by. I was in the same spot for 6 months and I am having surgery tomorrow! You'll learn some great stuff about the sleeve and yourself in these 9 months. And just think how much healthier you'll be for surgery. Good luck. You can do it! Sent from my iPhone -
