Congratulations!!! Welcome to the other side! Sounds like everything went well. Take care this weekend and hopefully you'll feel back to your new normal by Monday. Don't know of any support groups. I believe Unity does have a group. You should inquire. We're always here too! Keep us posted on your progress. HW: 281.5 on 10.30.15 SW: 245.7 on 6.1.16 CW: 213 on 7.25.16 -

Life is still good. Have shared my story with more family members and it's a good feeling. So far the feedback and support is positive. I am down again this week. I've really amped up my walks too. I think I've even convinced the hubby to start running C25K with me next week. How awesome will that be!?!? HW: 281.5 on 10.30.15 SW: 245.7 on 6.1.16 CW: 213 on 7.25.16 -

I finally understand why posting results and details goes away after the first few weeks. This. Is. Life. We are just plugging away with a smaller stomach and managing our eating way better. I'm doing good. I feel great. I'm living life and the weight just comes off. Yeah, yeah, I'll have to deal with maintenance some day. Just not today! unjury is a good powder option. Mixes well, tastes good and doesn't clump. Looking forward to making a soup with the chicken flavor packet. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

Ok here we go. I'm going to be honest. I'd rather prepare for the worst and hope for the best. And just so you know, it really wasn't bad at all. No they didn't give me a binder but ask for one and they will. I powered through without it and felt fine after two weeks. I didn't use my gas ex in the hospital but did at home and still do. Not much though. Bring next to nothing. I didn't have energy to change my clothes or even brush my teeth. I didn't even wear a bra and undies home. Too worn out. I was at hospital Wednesday 8am and left Thursday 5pm. I don't know what I was on in hospital but they sent me home with Oxy Tylenol. I stopped taking it before Monday after surgery. I am not on any meds - lucky me. Vitamins start at week four and they go down just fine with a sip of Water. I had my own room. A couple tips I can give you is to push yourself to walk. I don't think I did enough in hospital. Maybe a belly band would have helped. But I had no clue. Also asked for your spirometer. They didn't give me that until day two. Should have had it sooner. Also coughing....you'll have a lot of mucus built up. Hold a pillow to your belly and cough. Hurts like hell but I guess it isn't bad for you. Docs PA called me a whimp because mine was too weak. Lol. Once they finally clear you for liquids, sleep between sips. I sat in that chair for four hours sipping and sleeping. Be prepared for the death rattle when sipping. You'll know it when it happens. Lol You'll wake up confused and full of regret after surgery. Make sure you have a good support system to visit you in the hospital and at home. I was feeling so much better by Sunday and even more so by Tuesday. I drove myself to my first week appointment if that's any indication. Some people say they felt fine in the hospital. Not me. It was hard but not awful. You just had surgery. Take it easy but know it's ok to push a little too. I'm six weeks out and have been cleared to run and lift weights. I'm not ready but I guess my body already is. Ha ha I compare it to having kids. Hurts and painful but pain goes away so fast you forget what the pain was even like. I guess that prepares me for plastic surgery down the road. I was too pumped and excited to be scared or nervous. It really wasn't until I got in the OR that it really sank in. I'm so glad I did it. Some days it's a little tough but nothing like my tough days from the past. Good luck. Let me know if you have other questions. And relax. You deserve it! You are smashing this! You need a ticker so we can all see your progress Great work!!! Thank you. I really hit it hard two weeks before surgery. I am still in the post surgery honeymoon phase following the rules. It is exciting to see the weight fall off. I know this won't always be the case. Being a loser is so fun! I am scheduled for July 26 with Dr. July. So glad to find someone with same surgeon! Glad to hear you are doing great. Would love to hear about your experience so far! Sent from my VS990 using the BariatricPal App Glad you're here. I'm assuming you know how awesome everyone at Unity is. The whole experience hasn't been bad at all. Surgery, we'll post surgery and a couple days after are the worst. Once past that it's on! Good luck with pre-op. Your day will be here before you know it! My review of a few items: Bariatric Pal shake or pudding NY cheesecake. No thank you. The shake got thick and was like pudding. Way too sweet! Paleo Protein Bar. Same sweet taste. I have tried three from the sample pack and other than their own flavoring they all taste the same. Having a hard time with Water flavor enhancers. The sweetness is just too much. And some of the flavors just don't do it for me. Luckily I actually like plain water. Protein shakes. I prefer Premier Protein chocolate. For the taste and ease. I have tried many brands and flavors. I also like that's it's always mixed. I just can't seem to get all of my powders mixed with my milk. What do I actually like? Lol. I like real food. Maybe because I hadn't really eaten any for a month. But I am truly appreciating getting in some actual food. I've had chicken, carrot and potato stew, cheesy ham and cauliflower bake, GF banana nut butter muffins, black bean Soup, egg drop soup, edamame, pepper steak, babaganoush(sp?), Greek yogurt, and avocado. I just had a "normal" movement. I hope this continues every couple days. My formula is two colace in the morning with warm herbal tea and two fiver choice at bedtime. I hope it will continue to keep things moving. I was definitely scared to go to the bathroom again. Lol So with that news of being all cleaned out I am down to 219.8!!!! HW 281.5/SW 245.7, down 61.7/25.9!!!! Feeling great! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

Well this is all new to me so am just trying to figure it all out. Yesterday I took colace and miralax to keep it loose and clean house. Hoping I'll just need to take colace everyday. I am learning a lot about all of this. So we will see what works best. What is the benefit of dulcax? I'll try anything never to feel that again! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

Gave myself my first enema today. Let this be a warning to you....keep it soft and loose! Colace is my new best friend. I'd rather take colace every day than experience trying to pass a huge solid mass. So, gross! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

I guess we are lucky to be handling post surgery so well. Other than day one, which was a blur, in the hospital and a few days of recovery I feel awesome most days. Some days even getting pumped up that I actually went through with it and surgery is behind me!!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

Thank you. So far it's all so new that I don't know what to expect. I figure I can't get upset because it's just how things are. Not much I can do about it. Still eating a lot of softer food. I puréed a bunch of meat. I don't really crave anything so am fine with just being sure to get some Protein in my belly. I've never not been hungry or could care less about food so I I'll take it. I know it won't always be like this. I haven't set an ultimate goal. For now I'd like to be in onederland by Labor Day. Here's hoping! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

Yes, life is the prize. You're here so that's a great start. I wish it was easier for you. You'll get there before you know it. And then you be like, really? I can't eat a whole tablespoon of mush? You'll feel both sad yet proud. The obstacles aren't over. They just change. It's line a game. But the best part is.....we are winning every day!!!! Good luck on your first mushy bite. I'll be starting soft food on Wednesday. As far as I'm concerned it'll be pretty much the same. Slowly I'll work my way up to a T from a T-bone. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
