  1. New obsession? Oven roasted asparagus - drizzle with olive oil, a good sea salt (pink or Himalayan) and fresh cracked pepper. Gets a little char on them, and then some fresh shaved Parmagiano-Reggiano over it and I'm in ecstasy.

This is what I made last night - with lots of garlic (didn't put cheese on it but YUM). I ate so much that I think my pee will smell for days! :-)

    Asparagus PEE!

  2. Blah, I went to one... through the clinic. It was crummy. Woman basically selling the B12 nasal spray and a boastfest for the clinic itself. Short period of time w. people that had actually had the surgery. It was also a lot of people! I'd rather have a smaller more intimate group but just me.

  3. It was part of my initial labs but I told them I wouldn't pass. When I realized the seriousness of needing to quit. I did and they wrote me a separate lab for that test after I was six weeks not smoking. Some insurance's wont cover it over and over if you don't pass so you may want to make sure you are six weeks out before having that one. I quit cold turkey. You got this.

  4. @@ra_girl @@Armygalbonnie We are all on a similar timeline!!! I get where you are both coming from and your husbands have reason to be anxious...wls can lead to martial issues. That does not mean that it will in your case. My husband is uber supportive but little things he says makes me know that he is anxious about the attention of other men. We all need to have candid conversations about the surgery perks and not so lovely perks. An open, direct and honest conversation is the way to go. If you need to have a buffer see a therapist. You are a team and should be working through all this before, during and after wls. I'd love to connect w. you both and compare if you are interested.

  5. @@OKCPirate Thank you thank you! I do appreciate all of the responses. I hope I didn't come across as though I don't. They were all sincere and gave wonderful perspective.

I am very sure and educated about Wls. I do understand the risks associated and the fact that people can channel their food issues into other compulsive activities. I must admit I am ready and willing to face any challenges head on. I have a great support system and am willing to reach out if I need help.

I want the ride that I deserve. I have missed out on some pretty badass things Bc of hang ups and inability to keep up.

I will continue to do research and hopefully will come up w the best plan for me. Cheers Mate!
