  1. What is with the trolls on this site? People who do nothing but attack others. This site is proving to be a negative to others trying to get help. It is not "keeping it real" to call people idiots, slackers and lazy. I mean do people need this much attention to attack people with their little fake names? Overweight people have had ENOUGH name calling and negativity. I am going to start a positivity page on FB and will give the link. Yes people screw up. Sometimes big time. And it takes courage and guts to admit it. It takes no courage to brag about how much you are better and smarter and more wonderful at having a sleeve. PS I am a drug and alcohol counselor so my page will be about positive reinforcement. Lashing out at someone DOES NOTHING BUT STROKE YOUR OWN EGO. I can't believe there is no one admining this site. I hope the trolls get their little fix when they drive everyone away from this community.

What a bunch of. I hardly name called. I said his choice was idiotic. Super dangerous actually. Can't handle someone being straight then think before you post.

Perhaps some Tomato Soup if that is allowed per your doctor recommended diet? Some of those are low in calories, but I don't know about sugar/carbs/fat. Definitely check with your nutritionist. I'm sure they hear that question a lot.

She and I have the same Dr. It's Protein shakes, h2o, broth, Jello and popsicles.

When I asked if it was true that bariatric patients lose weight differently he said yes, pear shape is more likely, and he also said "you will look pretty awkward the first year". Ahhh! I wouldn't considered myself vain but.... come on awkward?!!

  4. I have my pre-op at the hospital today (around 10:30). Surgery next Friday (11/18). So far on my pre-op diet (low carb) I've lost 3lbs.

Congrats! I hate this liquid diet. I'm turning into a crybaby! I can see that I will probably be rather emotional after surgery. Ugh

  5. I liked the idea of sifting through the Beans for stones. I'll grab some and try...someday. And forgive me I'm on day3 pre op liquid diet, just a tad emotional and defensive

    Easy enough! :)

Sort the Beans for stones and skins, rinse well and soak over night in cold Water.

The next morning, remove any floaters and rinse the beans well.

In the bottom of a pot, fry up some chopped bacon, chopped garlic and diced onion onions. Pour in the drained beans and fill pot with half Water, half chicken stock. Simmer beans until tender. (If you have a ham bone, throw that in there for sure!)

I add seasonings, but I go by sight, not by measurements. A generous amount of cumin, salt, pepper, and garlic powder goes in the pot once the water is hot enough to dissolve it all. I adjust the spices according to the taste of the broth, so I am no help there.

I do skim the fat off the top of the Soup as it cooks out.

We usually eat half the beans as soup and the other half I drain completely and mash. I fry them up in a bit of oil, with cheese, and you'll have excellent refried beans. Add sour cream, salsa verde, avocado... YUM!

    thank you.
