About Me

Hi, my name is Jess.  At the time of writing this is am 49 years old, married for nearly 18 years to my husband Mark. We have 3 great kids.  Our eldest daughter is 15, and we have twins who are ten.  One of our twins has Asperger's Syndrome and goes to special school.  His sister is at normal school.

I am currently about twenty stones (280lb) in weight and 5feet 6 inches tall, giving me a BMI of about 45.  My general practitioner has recommended me for WLS after two years trying to lose weight on Xenical Orlistat fat-blocker pills. But I've been "on a diet" since I was 12 years old when I was first taken to Weight Watchers by my mother.  I diet and lose weight but then put it all back on, with extras.  You name it, I will have tried it.  Even managed 6 months on LighterLife so shakes are no problem for me!

I have trouble with my ankles, knees, hips, bladder and piles.  No breathing difficulties, but a tub of lard on my waist that just keeps getting bigger.  I need this now so that I can be around long enough to see my kids grow up, get married and be around long enough for son to become independent, giving his learning difficulties.

Thankfully, I'm UK-based so my surgery is being covered on the National Health.

My biggest worry is that with a platelet deficiency, they might not let me go ahead
