I noticed on Aetna's policy topic about bariatric surgery that it says "no net weight gain". What exactly does that mean? I am going to a nutritionist and I have been twice. I gained 3 pounds. Not sure if it was water weight or what but it was 3 lbs higher than my first visit. I am concerned because the scale at the surgeon's office had a completely different reading also. Can anyone provide some clarity on this subject?

I started my proposal diet on Wednesday. My surgery is on the 18th. I feel like the Dr office left out somethings. I'll hey didn't say don't drink coffee but I see many post that say people quit their regular and switched to decaf before surgery. Can anyone give me some insight on how their pre-op diet went..... Does anyone know if the first consultation will count as my first weight in? I have aetna and was told that one doesn't count by a nurse. However that was really the 1st appointment. I weighed 250 at that one. The next appointment I was 246. My last appointment I was 247. I am afraid of not getting approved because I don't know which one they will count as my 1st appointment and they specifically say onr their site that you have to weigh the same or less on your last appointment.

So far it's ok. because they are letting me have a real meal once a say with 2 shakes and 2 Protein Snacks

I still had to wait a while and do all.of my requirements but as soon as the paper work was submitted they responded and I couldn't be any happier. They tell you in the beginning you they have up to 45 days to respond Sent from my SM-G928V using the BariatricPal App
