How soon after surgery did you start the nuvaring? Sent from my LG-H811 using the BariatricPal App Almost immediately, maybe a week or two, however long it took me to get in to see my OBGYN Sent from my SM-G930P using the BariatricPal App

It's been pretty easy, I haven't had any major issues other than a lack of libido, but that is normal in conjunction with the hormones released during weight-loss. But I like it better than the pills. My face has cleared up a lot, so that's a plus! Sent from my SM-G930P using the BariatricPal App

Over emotional and regretting surgery?
wgsleeved replied to AimeeAnd's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I felt crazy for the first month or so after surgery, and for the first couple of weeks I felt full of regrets and asking why did I do this to myself??? I think it's totally normal, from reading others experiences. This life change is not easy, but I swear once you start seeing and feeling the benefits you will change your tune. Give your body some time to adjust, to the hormones dumping and the anesthesia to work it's way out of your system. And in the meantime talk to people as much as you can. This place is a great resource for help and reassurance. Just know that this feeling is temporary and fleeting. You will feel better soon, once you start feeling normal again. Best of luck!! A lot of hormones are released from your fat cells when you lose weight really fast, and that could be causing the weird periods but to be safe I would call your surgeon or your OBGYN and ask about it. I started birth control (nuvaring) after my surgery and it keeps my periods pretty regular, not sure how they would be if I wasn't on the BC Sent from my SM-G930P using the BariatricPal App

Dr Worley at Methodist Willowbrook did my surgery and he was very helpful and supportive during the pre op period and continues to be after surgery. If you're looking for another bariatric team, methodist willowbrook has a great program, I wish you luck and I pray you feel better soon. Sent from my SM-G930P using the BariatricPal App -

I felt the same way, being scared it wasn't going to happen or delayed or something. I just wanted to have the surgery so bad I was convinced it wouldn't happen. Mine did end up getting delayed a month but that was my own fault because I had trouble quitting nicotine. My advice is to just learn as much as you can before the surgery and have faith it WILL happen. Try not to get too impatient with the process, there's a reason insurance wants you to be absolutely sure you're ready for the lifestyle change. Even with 4 months of preparing I was shocked after surgery the emotions that come a long with it. It's a huge life change (for the better but still stressful in the beginning) that's good you've started using bariatric now, I wish I had before. That's been rough having to relearn how to eat/drink. I think you will do great just enjoy the process! Sent from my SM-G930P using the BariatricPal App -

Hi, at my preop visit the dr went over the procedure and any questions I had. I had to do some blood work including a nicotine test so if you smoke quit now! Sent from my SM-G930P using the BariatricPal App -

I have this too, my surgery was may 18th. I think it's stomach acid. I take omeprazole 40 MG but I still have that burning wave of pain. I took some liquid gaviscon and that seemed to settle it down some. Did you have issues with reflux or GERD before surgery? Sent from my SM-G930P using the BariatricPal App
