  1. I personally know about 4 people that have had gastric bypass or the sleeve and talking with them really helped me out. There are a few groups on Facebook that I belong to as well that have really been helpful to me since I'm getting closer to actually having a surgery date. 2. I pray that you find something to work. I'm very spiritual, as is therapist... I've been with her a couple years before even considering surgery. I also suffer from PTSD. She introduced me to tapping. It really helps. Check it out. It may help you. http://www.thetappingsolution.com/what-is-eft-tapping/ Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using the BariatricPal App
  3. Hope you can see those and hope it helps. If you can't see them or just want them scanned and emailed to you I can do that. Just let me know. And I do agree that changing now will make it easier. In fact, I'm going back to a strict 1200 calories (I'd was between 1400-1500) since I'm close to getting an actual surgery date. 5. When When I went for my initial consult they gave us a binder wit a suggested eating plan. And there plenty to eat. They told me 1200-1500 per day, with 60-80 grams of Protein. Give me a minute and I'll upload a couple of pics of the pages. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using the BariatricPal App
  6. Good evening! I am nearing the time to get my medical clearance so I can get my surgery date. I have a question... I currently have my hair in box braids. Will this present a problem during the surgery and hospital stay? Idk why this question keeps coming up in my mind, so I thought I'd ask... Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using the BariatricPal App
  7. I will probably be in September. I had to get insurance approval before I could start the process. Then I had to go to an all day group session. I had my blood work done, met with the surgeon and found out I have lost 17 of the 10 pounds they wanted me to lose prior to surgery. In other words: I'm ahead of the game there. Tomorrow I meet with the exercise physiologist, and I have my psych eval August 18 and medical clearance August 28. After that appointment I meet with the surgeon again and get my official date. Was hoping for August but looks like I'll be in September. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using the BariatricPal App
  8. I'm hoping for an August date. I just started the process. Already obtain insurance approval (required before I could even schedule a consult). I had a group info session, going to ger blood work this week, already scheduled to see surgeon for initial consultation June 17, exercise physiologist June 22, still have to meet with dietician and psychologist. My insurance doesn't require supervised weight loss program and the hospital I'm going through says it's about a 3-4 month process. So that should put me at August. 9. Got insurance approval and going through Pre-surgery things. Had an all day long group session on Monday. I go see the actual surgeon June 17, June 22 I see the exercise specialist, waiting to make psychology appointment... should have a date scheduled in a week or so, and I have to do my fasting blood work by this weekend. Very excited! Still deciding which I want - sleeve or bypass. Went in knowing I wanted the sleeve, however, after the session and all the info I'm thinking the bypass is the way I'm leaning. I have a couple of weeks before I have to say 100% what I want. Reading this thick binder the nurse gave me and praying over it. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using the BariatricPal App
