Powdered Peanut Butter!
missdeeAus replied to Iscarelys's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Could u make a satay with it? -
Congratulations for reaching this point! Who is your surgeon may I ask? I kinda wondered if the Aussie surgeons have equal experience to the USA ones? Most don't seem to have many pictures on their websites.... Also if it's ok to ask...any idea on cost? I know this will be on the cards for me in 12mth.

Hey don't you look great! All is well here. Things are a little slower than I'd like but very steady and I guess that's good too . -
Ladies only please!!!!!!
missdeeAus replied to chonchis's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I hope they are keeping an eye on your iron levels? I had a period when I was younger that lasted that long but starting a high dose pill stopped it. Two lower dose ones didn't work. But this was years pre surgery. Sorry I have no other advice. -
Should I be concerned
missdeeAus replied to Jinyinjin's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Initially I was able to eat that amount and I worried my sleeve was 'too big' or something. 8mth on I find that that is just pretty much the amount my stomach holds. I think I was lucky to heal fast and be very well from early on, but am super relieved that as time has gone by I can't actually eat too much more then what I was able to eat from a few weeks out. -
Today I discovered that at 32 I now fit back into my high school formal dress again. I'm am amazed. But what I do notice is how different my body looks though it is a little hard to recall my 17 yr old body. I really feel that I am still much larger now than I was then and yet that dress fits with ease. Perhaps I filled that dress with more lean muscle and far less fat? Anyone else find along the way?

May I ask how you are coping with loose skin? That is just such an incredible loss! Congratulations
-
I know it's so tricky! I have purchased a few new things and I'm struggling to accept some stuff is just way too big. And I keep wearing it anyway. I'm pretty excited that I have 4 classic cut skirts from that time that also fit and I'm wearing them again. The fear of loose skin now is playing heavily on my mind but I know it's going to happen.

I think you are right. It's all a bit surreal.

My mother kept a heap of things. There was an evening gown I wore to a very fancy wedding at age 15 that is so classic. If I get back in that I'll throw confetti regardless of how lumpy and bumpy I will be.

I've had worse hangovers. Pain meds plus walking and I felt fine. The odd twinge. That's all. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
Bridesmaids Dress
missdeeAus replied to victoria.hudson's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My advice is better too big than two small. And let your bride know their is a chance this might happen. Pre surgery I had a period where I lost about 15 kg in the month or so prior to a wedding I was bridesmaid for. My dress maker was furious but I refused to let a dress scare me off eating well and walking. I had the dress taken in twice and I had to end up wearing two bras to give me extra lift and volume but it helped me fill out the bust which is where u will notice it most if too big. I would say the dress was still a size to big and there was strategic pinning and sewing me into the dress on the day. My bride was just happy I was succeeding. And ultimately it did still look really nice. Do allow time on wedding day to take those extra steps getting ready. Even in the space of a week u might have noticeable change in size. Keep trying it on. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

I was asked by my psychologist- would you rather waste some food or waste your sleeve? And since then - I don't care about throwing out anything I can't finish or won't enjoy the following day as another meal. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I make a zucchini slice every Sunday to take to work and eat as breakfast. It's just veggies eggs and almond meals (sometimes some bacon or ham). I don't get sick of it as I switch the veggies around. Also u can add some plain Protein powder. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I can totally relate to this. What are people's thoughts on WHEN to start dating? Do you wait until ur close to goal weight? Or start ASAP because it might take years? Do you advertise that your 'plus size'? Do you put up a nice picture and hope u don't disappoint? The whole online thing absolutely does my head in but it's much harder to meet single people in day to day life after turning 30. It's seems to me that's the only way these days. Oh to be 21 again. Thanks that's helpful to know Dairymary. I definitely hadn't thought about it like that. Sickandtired Did ur surgeon prescribe u veltex or ur regular dr? I didn't know such a drug existed. But if it can stop it in its tracks I want it. I never get a tingle. Normally I notice my lip looks pinker in one spot only. At that point I immediately start using cream and take some lysine but with a few hours it has surfaced in a raised blister. They normally clear within 5-7 days. Once they surface I use compeed to treat them. I like knowing they are covered. They are like a little special clear sticker u put on them. The one I have at present is definitely the largest I've ever had. Cold sores make me feel very self conscious and embarrassed- so I hope I can get it sorted. Thanks so much for your replies Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Are you male or female? Sorry could not see on ur profile Do u feel it could be hormonal? Or perhaps from the change in diet? Less fruit and veg... I'd love to pin point a trigger so I could try to prevent it. Thanks Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Yes I had my surgery back in January2016 and for the first 6 months I was getting a cold sore every other week, now it's about once a month. Not sure what is causing it tho. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
