I'm struggling with muscle loss.
highfunctioningfatman replied to highfunctioningfatman's topic in Fitness & Exercise
I figured that I would come back here and update. I've been averaging 1100 calories, over 100 protein and upped my carbs to 70-75. My weight has stalled but I don't care, it will drop again. I've kicked my own ass working out and now I need someone to kick mine because I did what I tend to do, I went OVERKILL! My body is not happy with me at the moment. I'm forcing myself to not do anything but work until Monday (I'm on call). I'm sore in a good way except for my shoulders and right bicep. I've been working daily on different muscles and obviously I've been physical at work as well. Wednesday I worked my upper body pretty darn good and I felt awesome yesterday but I had to do a lot of lifting yesterday and that pushed my body harder. Live and learn. Thank you all for the help. -

Where do you go for check ups and blood work? Your general practicioner? Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App Yes just my regular dr. I didn't tell my dr that I had it done either because I don't want it in my chart notes. None of their dang business. -

My insurance wouldn't pay so as far as I'm concerned it never happened. They don't need to know. I just go in for check ups and blood work and call it good. -

If your so mild that you don't meet criteria for insurance to pay for a cpap then you are good to go. -
@ Happy birthday! Today would have been my mom's 66th. One of my good friends turned 72 today.

98 pounds down and thinking about my goal
highfunctioningfatman replied to Lori Franzen's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I didn't have a weight goal when I started either. My goals were 33-34 pants and a large shirt. I'm currently wearing 32" Wrangler slim fit jeans and 2XL shirts. The shirts are loose and XL's look awesome until I sit down and my stomach gains 9 inches! My cousin came for Thanksgiving and I realized that I would be quite happy being built like him. He is my height and has the same short leg/long torso that I have. We are both wearing the same size pants. He wears medium to large shirts and he weighs 178 pounds. This puts him at a BMI of 27.9 which is still in the overweight category. You know what? He looks dang good and he is healthy so he is my role model because being healthy was my reason for doing this journey. -
Great attitude!

What's your average weightloss for 6 months?
highfunctioningfatman replied to Red_lips_and_confidence's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
There are a ton of variables to your answer but the biggest factor is that the heavier you start, the more you will lose. -
Amber alert! (This is the only time that an amber alert is funny)

An amazing change! Congrats! -
Funny you should say that. I don't know exactly how much a cylinder head weighs but I threw on in my backpack and carried it around for a bit this last weekend. I know that it has to be a bit short of my missing 81 pounds but I can guarantee that my body didn't miss it one bit!

NSV Christmas baking..
highfunctioningfatman replied to Dashofpixiedust8's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Freaking awesome girl! I decided that I would allow myself one goodie a day during the season. So far I think that I've had 5 small pieces of something. I see nothing wrong with enjoying in moderation as long as someone can control their eating. Keep up the cookie training e.g. "no cookie, no! I won't eat you!". Of course you have to picture this with a whip in one hand and a chair in the other like you are dealing with a lion. -
100 pounds gone! Never to return.

They seemed thicker at first but now I'm going through the hair loss phase and I'm losing it everywhere. I usually wear a white button up shirt for work and I've noticed my mustache and beard hair on my shirt on days that I haven't shaved. My wife also noticed that I'm losing hair in other parts of my body as well.

A Little More Off the Rear Please!
highfunctioningfatman replied to Treadmillwalker's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
The sad thing is that I really do have a long lost sister. If any of you ladies were born 5/12/68 in Los Angeles County, you could actually be my sister. -
I would fit an XL shirt so nice if my stomach didn't gain 9 inches when I sit down. Grrrr!

I'm far from a super star. I've learned a lot and applied it. I also research the heck out of anything before making a move. I've enjoyed getting to know a lot of the people on here. Most that are here for any length of time are really helpful. There are also a few that I haven't seen around that I miss their input.

I hear you. I haven't seen @Valentina in quite awhile, I've seen less of Dub and B-52. Babbs and LisaMergs have disappeared. Quite a few that have given me good advice have faded away.
