How soon after surgery can I have sex?
highfunctioningfatman replied to healthybiggirl~6's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
We fooled around on day 2. Day 5 was slow and easy. Day 9 was our usual wild and crazy! Listen to your surgeon and your body because your results may vary. -
Congratulations on your decision!

Feeling discouraged
highfunctioningfatman replied to Deirdre44's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
That sounds like gas. Try this, while laying in bed roll from your left side to your back, wait about 30 seconds and roll to your right side and stay there for 30 seconds. Keep rotating every 30 seconds or so. I got rid of gas really quickly when I discovered this method. -
6 days post op and screwed up bad...
highfunctioningfatman replied to MTWilliams's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yep. You screwed up. Hopefully you didn't cause damage to your healing stomach. I hope the food was worth risking your life. -

Kaiser Oregon - Not Covered?

Can I ask who your surgeon was in Mexico? I am researching now for surgery.Sent from my XT1055 using the BariatricPal App Can I ask who your surgeon was in Mexico? I am researching now for surgery.Sent from my XT1055 using the BariatricPal App I'm interested to know who the doctor is as well. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Absolutely! My surgeon was Mauricio Gutierez at Trinity Medical. There is a coordinator in Grants Pass that I went through. I didn't care for the main coordinator. If you want the Coordinators information just send me a message. -
Dang I love my 32" pants! I've been wearing my 34's the last couple of days and every time I bend over they slide off of my butt. These 32's cup my butt and don't slide when I bend over. It is amazing how great a pair of jeans can truly feel!

I look at the jeans that I fit into and think "no frickin way am I going to fit in those", then I do! What feeling! Congratulations, non scale victories are the best!

Kaiser Oregon - Not Covered?
highfunctioningfatman replied to saoirse16's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Call the bariatric facility of your choice and have them verify your insurance coverage. They will be able to use the appropriate billing codes to determine coverage. We do that all of the time in the oxygen industry. Back in 2000 my sister had gastric bypass and in 2001 my mom had gastric bypass in Coos Bay. I had VSG 12 weeks ago in Mexico. I wasn't concerned about follow up care. I researched the crap out of my surgeon and found that he had a zero complication rate. I couldn't find anyone here like that. I also met 5 other people here locally that have been to him. Three of the five are in the medical field all they all said the it was the absolute cleanest facility that they have ever been in. I am in Southern Oregon. -
Meeting someone new before surgery
highfunctioningfatman replied to Siyaa Ela's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just a word of caution. The hormone dumping out of the fat can be difficult to deal with. Before committing to something, think about it. If you get mad think about the consequences. If you're extremely happy, make sure that it is real. Either way good luck! -
Confused about the pains!
highfunctioningfatman replied to Siyaa Ela's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is pretty simple. Expect the worst and be pleasantly surprised if it is better. -
Absolutely!

Everyday is a honeymoon for me! Oh, wait, you are talking about weight loss. Those nsv's honestly mean more to me than the scale.

Paranoid
highfunctioningfatman replied to TracyAnderson's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You are blessed with a smooth road! I was similar in a lot of ways, no pain meds, no nausea, I went back to work like it was nothing after 8 days, no real issue with foods. Although I don't push it with food I know that I can eat more and if I need to power down on my liquids I can do 32 oz in 20 minutes if I focus on drinking. That being said, I'm 12 weeks out and I've lost 70 pounds. Don't worry, follow the plan and eat proper and you will be golden! -
It finally fits!

It finally fits!
highfunctioningfatman replied to highfunctioningfatman's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Thanks to both of you! I agree that it looks big and it definitely is when I'm standing but previously if I had attempted to sit the buttons would have blown off machine gun style and killed my cat. I love my cat. -
Thanksgiving..
highfunctioningfatman replied to TanishaP's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have to admit that I will be going off plan tomorrow. I will have a spoonful of my mom's sausage and mushroom rice, I will have a broccoli ball (made with stuffing), I will have the tip of a piece of my aunt's buttermilk pie. Of course I will do the bariatric friendly turkey, green beans with bacon, one of my smoked atomic buffalo turds, a deviled egg and some ham. I will say that this will be the most carbs that I've had since surgery and this lifestyle isn't about deprivation, it is about choices. Tomorrow's portion control will be mindful and come Friday I will be doing business as usual. -

How Will This Thanksgiving Be Your Healthiest Yet?
highfunctioningfatman replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
It has already started! We are doing 4 turkeys and a ham this year. Two of the turkeys are given away. Two will be done in an orion cooker (my favorite!) and the other two will be baked. These are atomic buffalo turds. They are halfed jalapeños stuffed with cream cheese that has been spiked with Frank's hot sauce, smoked pulled pork on top and wrapped up with wonderful, glorious bacon! They are in the smoker right now. -

If you are a cheap bastar- I mean frugal man like me... I mix 32oz of lemon-lime Powerade Zero 50/50 with water and add a crystal light single serving pack of lemonade. That is freaking awesome! -
