Man, I am getting frustrated. I'm getting 60-80 grams of protein a day and 64+ ounces of fluids. I keep losing muscle. I workout most days with a total gym, free weights, exercise bike and a simply fit board. I have 125 pounds on a hand truck and I've noticed that it is getting really tough to get it up steps. In general I feel weaker. I've always been strong just by working and now with working out I'm struggling. Unfortunately I can't afford a personal trainer at the moment or I would be going that direction. Any suggestions?

How long before the "honeymoon" is over?
highfunctioningfatman posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
How long does the honeymoon period last? I have been averaging about 3 pounds per week for a while now and I'm ecstatic for that. Approximately how long does it take before weight loss "normalizes"? -
Well you guys it was OK while it lasted. I had posts on my surgery in Mexico completely disappear from here. I can only assume that because it didn't support this site that it was removed. This truly upset me. I'm also on Obesity Help but I don't care for the format. After today's incident, I'm done here.

How long before people noticed?

60 pounds was what it took for me. One of the best comments was a few weeks ago. I got out of my vehicle at a gas station and the manager said "where the F--- is the rest of you?!". -

Bipolar swings after weight loss

Hormone imbalance caused by weight loss is super common. You aren't nut balls, you're normal. You will need to adjust your meds and you'll be right as rain. -
Cpap machine nightmare
highfunctioningfatman replied to moe_2175's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
For most insurance you have to fail cpap by not having your AHI corrected using the cpap for 60 days at least 4 hours per night. If you were initially prescribed a bipap that is because in a sleep lab setting they were unable to correct your AHI and your sleep study would show failure of the cpap first. -

I needed fiber. I now eat chili 3-4 times a week. Solved my problems. -

I am quite skilled in that area too It's all fun and games until they turn the tables on you and wear one of those clasp-in-the-front bras! Those are the best! Those when released put a smile on my face like a safe cracker getting their first glimpse of the jewels -

Cpap machine nightmare

Definitely the ramp button. To lower the pressure requires a new rx from your doctor. Your supplier can not legally lower the pressure, they have to supply according to the rx. FYI you don't get oxygen from a cpap. All you are breathing is 21% room air. When you go to sleep the muscles around your airway relax causing an obstruction. The cpap (Constant Positive Airway Pressure) reinflates your airway to keep it open. Picture it like a balloon. Your ears popping is most likely because eustachian tube is swollen in your ears. The popping is occurring because of pressure in your ears just like when you change elevation. If the problem continues you really need to see an ENT. FYI #2 most insurance companies follow Medicare guidelines for cpap which is you need to use it 4 hours per night for 30 days in a 90 day period. -
Stupid Question, but oh well, I'll still ask...

1. No 2. No 3. Most likely 4. Nope! Yes I'll admit that I snickered! You are over thinking this a bit. If it can be mashed with a fork and it goes through then you are good to go. -
Wow, you look great!

Shopping in your closet

I now weigh what I did when I was 13... I only have one shirt hanging in my closet from 2003 that is too small. It was too small then as well, I've never been able to wear it. Everything else is too big. I actually bought an XL button up shirt a couple of weeks ago. -

I have to post this. I love turkey. For a few years I tried the deep fried turkey and it turned out ok and I was glad to have the oven free. Then something changed. I checked my thermometer, I lowered my time, I tried different brands of oil and turkeys and they just turned out cruddy. One of my employees bought an Orion 101 cooker and I was intrigued. For $140 I bought one. It is essentially a charcoal fired outdoor convection oven. The food chamber never has combustion in it so there isn't anything odd to the flavor from charcoal or lighter Fluid. I add wood chips inside of the chamber so the turkey is smoked. The turkey also drips into a tray inside and the drippings steam back up to the meat. I do however have a problem. The birds come out so juicy that sometimes I've ripped the back right away from the turkey just lifting the darn bird out of the Orion. Unfortunately I was busy and I didn't take pictures of this year's turkeys so I will show you some previous. One of the best things about cooking a turkey this way is it is 5 minutes plus 7 minutes per pound and the time starts from the second you light it. A simple example, a 10 pound turkey would be 75 minutes. That is correct, an hour and 15 minutes!

Complacency is no reason to not do a thorough job. 6000 surgeries? Sounds like somebody is doing way too much. I'm betting this is one of those surgeons that will do 10 surgeries in a day. Scary stuff! -
Who Is Your Biggest Supporter In Your WL Journey?
highfunctioningfatman replied to o00's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
My sweetie! She is extremely supportive. She is also putting up with me during this hormone dumping because other than my height I'm typically not short. I have been mildly short since surgery and I apologize. She laughs and says it's fine.
