    Can't get protein shake down

I found the chocolate Unjury's powder wasnt thick at all. Even after using a thicker soy milk or almond milk. With water it was just as thin as water. It put me in the mind of a chocolate yoohoo drink. It does have an after flavor but i haven't found a drink that doesn't. It was my favorite so far though.

    Hey Short Ladies!

Just found some ankle length Rockstar jeans at old Navy on clearance for $15 a few days ago. And the Original jeans were on sale for 40%off. I went with the Rockstar cause they were cheaper. These are my first Jean purchase since way before surgery. (Nsv) my first 12s! I bought 2 and a size 10 to size down into. I haven't needed dress pants yet but i guess I'll cross that bridge when i get to it. Oh and im 5'2 and the jeans are truly ankle length.

    Always cold after surgery?

Yup. Surgery in October and colder than everyone else almost all the time. I used to notice it when i was restricting calories or fasting pre surgery but this is crazy. I was always sweaty and couldn't wait for fall. Now i can't believe i can't wait til spring or summer.

    LOVE YOURSELF VALENTINES CHALLENGE

Gw: 180 Cw: 187.4 Today's date: Feb 24 2017 I think things are slowing down. Need to start working out.
  8. Im still getting used to it. I still have to remind myself every day that it happened. But i wouldn't trade it. Im in the 180s now. I would have never gotten here without the sleeve. I still over eat by accident and am miserable for almost an hour. Im cold ALL the time. Im probably losing my hair right now. I really can't think of much more than that. I still wish i could have done it without surgery but i needed something to keep me accountable. That i couldn't run from. Over all im pleased. I've lost over 60lbs in less than 5 months. I don't sweat i barely if ever snore anymore i just walked up an incline the other day and didn't feel like i was dying. I barely noticed it. I was so proud of myself. It's the little things. Im waiting for the weight worry to lessen but everything in time.
  9. My boobs were the first thing i noticed cause they lost so much volume so quickly. I've been just taking hand me downs and buying little things like leggings, sweats and a few new tops. It's frustrating, scary and exciting at the same time. Wearing a hand me down bra from my bestie. I might go for a genie bra. Last time i checked at target they were 2 in a pack for 20 dollars.

    Vivid dreams?

I always have dreams like that if im fasting or restricting my calories really low. My mind gets fixated on food and i have bouts of insomnia. It happened really early on post op and pre op. If you aren't on solids yet it'll probably get better once you start having real food. Just try to power through it, i know its hard. And i couldn't eat a whole pizza pre op either but post op me swears to good i could demolish an entire Chicago style pizza lol. Insane! Lol

    One month sleeved

You're a month out things are going to change day to day. It's still changing a lot for me almost 5 months out. If you're measuring your food and following your doctor's plan you'll be fine. What i find helps keep me motivated is every 15 or so lbs or whenever I'm out with my boyfriend "shopping" (i really just go to try things on). I am usually down a size and didn't even notice. People have noticed. I take pictures in the dressing room and am going to put them together when at goal. We see ourselves every day. Give it time it'll probably be more subtle to you than others. Take pictures and don't stress. Your body WILL change just focus on your diet and getting everything you need. It'll all fall into place. [emoji4][emoji6]

    4 1/2 months out

Feel better girlie. Somehow my body keeps saying "not today Satan!" Because i have been able to avoid all the crazy stuff that's been going around. I know my day will come soon, this weather makes it hard to avoid sickness. Hope you feel better soon hon!

    Back to regular food (CHOPPED)

It'll get easier. I usually don't eat much during the early part of the day. Most of the time i just have no desire. Thinking, planning and cooking a meal is just ugh. The worst. It's 3:11pm and all I've had is a shake and water. Over the weekend tho, i had Chinese bbq spare ribs, chicken taco (just the chicken), rib eye steak and potato, boiled eggs and protein shakes. This was over three days. That wasnt everything but my point is it gets much easier. Almost too easy. I find myself slipping up and eating things like cookies, cakes, tortilla chips. But i don't, can't and won't eat nearly what i used to. I allow little indulgences but once i feel it getting out of hand i back up, stop and go back to basics. Something i could have never done or had the strength to do before so i feel like it's an improvement. Im way better and getting better at it every day. Beating yourself up makes no sense. Just make sure you get back to it next meal. Anyway (sorry, i rambled there lol). It'll get better just give it time. You'll probably never feel like eating ALL the time. It's just different now than before. Pre op i couldn't wait for my next meal. Now i anticipate the next meal like a shot in the arm. I feel like I'll enjoy it until I'm actually eating it. So it makes me not want to eat so i get it. But enjoy this while you can. Those moments will im sure get few and far between lol.

    Walking

My goal on S health is 6,000 for now. I used to work retail so 10 to 20+ thousand steps a day wasn't hard to do. Especially if i met with my boyfriend after work and walked around the city before going home. Now that i babysit i don't walk as much so my goal is much lower but i usually strive to make over it. I walked 13+ thousand steps Friday and 8+ thousand on Saturday. It's not too hard getting steps in living in nyc.
  17. I CANNOT stress how important water is. I was the same way. You could be getting sick but you could also be getting dehydrated. I was really weak and dizzy and would have fainting spells and sleep all day. It's not uncommon, you're less than a month out. Fatigue is expected. But when you are awake really push yourself to get at least 50 to 60oz of water. You can drink tea and icies. Anything will help. Once i upped my water i started feeling better and the dizzy spells slowed to a stop. Do rest but when awake spend as much time as possible sipping liquids. Broth, milk, water, tea, vitamin water Gatorade, POWERade (all sugar free of course). The more you drink the better you'll feel. Especially if you might be getting sick. Take care and feel better

    Bowel movement

Took me about a week i think. Maybe 4 to 5 days. And don't strain. I now its hard (pun intended as well) but if i feel it happening and try to go and it doesn't im not pushing it (literally). I hope it is easier for you than it was for me lol.

    Back to regular food (CHOPPED)

Not gonna lie im almost 5 months out and i have liquid days. Not because I'm trying so hard to lose weight but sometimes i just can't do solids. Sometimes i feel tight early and can only do Water, shakes and tea. So I'll do that and my next meal I'll do dense Protein. And sometimes i can't finish the same amount as i did the day before but it's ok. Part of the process i guess. Im usually ok just up my shakes for that day and drink more water. I don't push it. Next day i get back into it best i can. Just gotta go with the flow. But still do what you need to do for you. I try to eat when im hungry unless that takes too long. If im not thinking about it ill completely forget or neglect the fact i need to eat. Sometimes i just really don't feel like eating. When that happens if im not actively hungry I'll wait it out a bit. If i start to feel sick i know i waited too long and will drink a bottle of water before my next meal to start my system. It just feels better, like I've woken my system to receive food. If i don't its hard to get much anything in and it isn't comfortable for my stomach.

How Often Do You Weight Yourself?

I weigh once a week now, 4 almost 5 months out. It was all over the place. In the beginning before approval i only weighed at my docs appointments. After surgery still weighed at the docs until i got a scale. Then i started weighing more often. Now its evening out to once or twice a week. I like to weigh on Mondays to see if the weekend had an impact good or bad so i can reflect on what i did and see if i should stop or continue certain activities. And Friday is my main weigh day. Even if i see a loss on Monday i don't record anything until Friday morning. It keeps me sane. That way i know if the number on Monday was the real thing. Sounds stupid but it's helped me keep my head.
  21. This sounds very familiar. I felt the same way before my surgery. I've been with my boyfriend for 10 years now. I kept telling him through my process that i loved him and that If anything about myself changes to put me in check lol. We don't live together so it's easier to stick to my plan when I'm home. I kind of leave the weekend for any off plan eating because i KNOW how things are for me when we are together. Ive gotten better with my choices around him but it's been a struggle. He is also overweight. We were the same weight for years. He wants to get healthy "but food is life" lol. He is really proud of me and hasn't made a huge deal about my loss like everyone else which makes me feel more at ease. He's been really great. Trying to accommodate my new dietary needs and making sure i can eat what he wants to cook. Of course i get upset when he wants me to help him make pizza and cake (this past weekend), but i either do or don't help him. I get an attitude and tell him it's rude cause i can't eat it and we go back and forth but only half serious. He makes me walk with him everywhere. Friday we walked over 6miles and saturday over 3. I think it's easier because we don't live together but 10 years with someone and you learn to work around some things. At least we have. I hope you can feel better about things. It'll get easier.
  22. Hey girl hey! Brooklyn over here! I Didn't buy much of anything for post op cause i was scared i wouldn't be able to tolerate or like any of the stuff. Definitely look into samples. I wish i had. Mostly i bought jello and bouillon and broth. And icies are the best right after. I wouldn't buy too much until you figure out what you like and what works for you. You don't want to be stuck with a bunch of stuff you can't and don't want to eat or drink. Measuring cups, a food scale, a shaker bottle has been my life saver. And i think ziploc or glad makes little 1/2 cup storage containers. I've been using them to eat and carry my food, so convenient. I don't have much to offer but congrats on your upcoming surgery!

    Doctor set goal?

I almost wish my surgeon set a goal for me. I think they like to let you figure it out for yourself. But when i asked him at my 3 month post op visit he said another 30 to 40lbs and I'd be perfect and i was doing great. When i talked to my NUT she was on the same train as him. When i said i was thinking about 20 to 30lbs less than that her face scrunched lol. She said it was too low, but im 5'2. When he gave me that "goal" i was at 205lbs. Now im 13lbs from the low end and 23lbs from the high end of that "goal". It's crazy but i want to get to 175lbs by my next appointment in April. That's 13lbs i hope i can do it.
  24. I was advised that the most important thing is water this close out. Protein will happen in time but you CANNOT become dehydrated. What i did was make up 4oz of protein shake and take a small sip every 5 to 10 minutes. Depending on thickness. But i didn't REALLY get into shakes until almost my second week or third week. I had to prioritize. I couldn't focus on protein AND liquid so i made liquids my priority and slowly started adding in more protein shakes. But i didn't and still don't have unflavored protein powder. That would have helped if i could have had it with my broths.
