Maybe see a GI doctor? Or try to go over your diet? You may be sensitive to something. Are you having dairy? If so you could be lactose intolerant. I am very intolerant. I was having severe stabbing pain in my abdomen and loose stools for a good week before i realized what it was (after only introducing dairy twice).Took about 2 weeks to fully get over it but once i cut the dairy i was fine. But thats just ME. Definately contact your surgeon and a gastro doctor. And in the mean time i would go over my diet and start slowly eliminating things to see if it helps any. Oh and water took a while for me too. If i dont take my time with it or its too cold itll hurt. Its just something i figured will resolve itself with time. It used to be really bad where id get a horrible stabbing in my chest a few seconds after drinking. I switched to room temp water and that helped tremendously. These surgeries come with a HUGE learning curve. Sorry you're having such a rough time. Hope things get better soon.

This is all true and hilarious. Slider foods are foods that will pass through your new stomach very quickly and easily, so you can and probably will eat a lot of it. Popcorn, potato chips, yogurt. These are all considered sliders. Chips turn to mush and go down really easily. It's a slippery slope for sure. I loved popcorn pre surgery. I've had it once since, several months post but will not buy it. It's too easy to eat a ton of it for me. I haven't bought popcorn at the movies in years. Too expensive. So i usually will eat before the movie and be fine as long as i have Water.

I am about 6.5 months out and i can barely eat too. It has gotten better definitely but it really depends on what i eat. Lettuce and fibrous veggies and fruit are still hard for me. I do very small amounts. I try to stick to mainly protein. Very little if any dairy. I do have some off plan things but 90% of the time i try to stick to plan or low carb. If i eat just dense protein i really can't eat much at all. But i also notice the less i eat the less i CAN eat. If i wait too long between meals i have A LOT of restriction and will usually do a shake, water or hot tea first before eating, wait about an hour then eat dense protein. Im still getting used to my full signals because i usually push them too far and things "backfire" if you know what i mean. But if i take my time i can probably do about 2.5oz of dense protein in about 20 to 30 minutes. Less if i have a veggie with my protein. Just give it time. Im going to just trust the vets and believe things will get better unless i get a stricture or something. But im just going with the flow until things even out. Hope things get better for you. If anything then just make a call to your surgeon and NUT and see if everything is on track.

Didn't notice my weight loss
Torriluv87 replied to redgirl37's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Great job! You look great! I could kinda tell for myself there were changes but i couldn't see how big they were until my boyfriend made a side by side for me and sent it in a text and said "next time you feel discouraged or like there hasn't been any change, just look at this picture. You've come a long way." He always tells me how proud he is of me and how great i look. It's really helped my confidence. It's also reassuring because other people keep commenting on my weight-loss. It's weird because i still barely feel or see myself as much different either but we see ourselves every day. Just keep doing what you're doing and you'll see the results yourself soon too and it'll only motivate you. Keep up the great work hun! -

How did you handle changing clothing size ?
Torriluv87 replied to Elizabethtash's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You sound like my sister lol. She's always trying to get me to dress up or put more effort into my look. I don't have a look lol. Im a work in progress and somehow they don't get that I'm not hugely into make up and clothes just yet. Im still trying to wrap my mind around losing this much weight and the fact that i don't look the same. Maybe Im subconsciously trying to look slightly homely to deflect attention from away myself? Either way i totally forgot about Walmart. Gonna have to hit them up. Thanks girl! -

I may have already commented but 70+lbs down and im still wearing the same leggings i was wearing near my highest weight. Im just noticing how big they are getting and now im debating my wardrobe for the summer and honestly it's giving me anxiety. I plan on losing more weight so i don't want to buy a bunch of new stuff but at the same time the only summer clothes i have are from when i was almost 100lbs heavier. It's going to be an interesting summer indeed. -

Thanks for the tip. Does it matter the temp of the water? Or the time of day? Do you find it more affective to take in the morning? -
Is it just me or does anyone else have "hollow" days?
Torriluv87 replied to AGreenEyedWolf's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am 6 months out and i get that feeling. Its maddening because it feels like i cant eat enough but at the same time i know im stuffed. I have never had a problem with restriction. In fact sometimes i feel like i may have more restriction that a lot of other people. Reading how much you can eat at 8wks out makes me wonder if my sleeve is extra small. I can barely get in 2oz of dense protein. Forget adding veggies after. I would literally have to have veggies on the fork with my protein to get both in. But i do have days that i eat things that are unfavorable. Cookies and candy have been a weak spot for me lately. So im starting back on keto or just low carb. I noticed the less carbs and sweet beverages i have the less i want them. If i drink just water and my shake i wont want juice. But soon as i start sipping juice (even just crystal light) i want more and more then it goes to soda and thats when i have to pull back before it gets too hairy. Its a slippery slope. My nutritionist doesnt think i should be so strict but giving myself an inch is what got me to and kept me over 260lbs for years. I cant afford to let myself slip up during the best time for me to be changing my habbits and mindset. Maybe you can try strict keto for a bit and see if that helps. Having dense protein is the ONLY thing that will sufficiently fill me for a signficant amount of time. I dont need the other stuff. Fruit is really a filler/slider because of the water. It will give the illusion of fullness but for me it passes relatively quickly and im left upset that i have to now eat again. Same with breads and similar carbs. I know its just mental because physically its not that comfortable for me to eat it so it makes no sense that i even bother. Definitely if nothing else try to make dense protein the bulk of your meal. If you can, go for the veggies but if you have enough protein in then the fruit and other things wont be an issue. I know this went on for a while. I hope i gave you some ideas and a little help. -

Goal weight: 160 lbs current weight: 177 lbs (Stupid TOM ) Todays Date: 4/7/17 -
When things like that happened to me pre op i would ask myself what did i eat before bed and how close to bedtime did i eat it? Now, being post op i would probably still ask myself the same things and just take an extra prilosec. It could just be reflux. But definitely check with your surgeon if it's just random without a cause.

I have been lactose intolerant way before this surgery. It hasn't gotten better and i don't think it will. Try to find plant based protein shakes if you can. And try to use unsweetened soy or almond milk. I use soy now because it has almost as much protein as milk in one cup but no sugar and minimal if any carbs. I think Unjury protein powder is pea based and it's thin almost water constancy so it goes down really easy. I limit my dairy to the whey protein in my protein powders and small amounts of cheese. Yogurt is a HUGE no. Dairy based soups are a no for me, ice cream, regular milk, most things we shouldn't be having lol. But it's not the end. You just have to find things that work for you and just work around your limitations.

Going into surgery pregnant
Torriluv87 replied to laGata15's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
I can understand that fear. As someone who has no children and no "scares" i can see why this would be scary. And i had no idea that pregnancy could go that long without detection. If i felt symptoms of a period I'd wait to see if it came because when i didn't i wasted money on tests. Maybe talk to your gyn? -
Going into surgery pregnant
Torriluv87 replied to laGata15's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
I don't have pcos (that i know of) but prior to surgery i NEVER had regular periods. They came when they felt like it, which would be once a year if i was lucky. Once i started taking birth control it was like clockwork. Whenever i stopped the pill so would my periods. I was advised to stop birth control before surgery because of the increased chance of blood clots. If the birth control was regulating your periods and you stopped taking them its probably just thrown it off. Mine was two weeks late after my surgery but since then it's been coming every month without birth control. Im almost positive for me it was weight related. Im 5'2 and have been obese all my life. -
I used to go to onestopplus.com i think is the site. I haven't been in a while but i usually paid $15 or less for my platex bras and they usually have a bogo going on. They also have other brands. Im on a very low income and before the few that i just bought hadn't bought a bra in over 4 years? Maybe more, so i know all about the cheap struggle lol.

Are you pre or post op? Im post op and i still feel like i sleep on rocks every night. Could it be that I've just lost that much weight? Thinking about a new bed.
