  1. October 5th was my day. Down 38lbs so far from surgery. 49 since my two week pre op. When i think of that number i get giddy. I was a size 20 and now im a 16. Hw: 272 (highest seen on scale) SW: 248.8 (day of surgery) Cw: 210 (?) I weigh myself about once a week. I do it at my boyfriend's house cause i need a scale. Im waiting till my next post op appt to see if I've lost anything more. I feel like I'm losing so slow. But then i think about the fact that i haven't been this size in YEARS. I have to think of the pros. Im doing well. Don't get sick unless i eat too fast or don't chew enough. I dont think i tolerate sausage/ hot dog very well but that's ok. Just hard getting Protein and Water sometimes. Shoot, food in general is hard. It's 10:23pm and im just eating for the third time today. Anyone know how to schedule meal times? Curious...

@@OutsideMatchInside how has taking the antacids inconsistently hurt you? I haven't been taking them every day and im 3 months out. I only take them when i feel i need to. I didn't think that was bad. Have i messed up? Sent from my SM-G925T using the BariatricPal App
  3. Counting calories is too much of a headache now with all the other stuff im tracking. I log it into my fitness pal so i can track my Protein and carbs and fat. I am mindful of the calories but so long as i stay in my lane with the rest i don't worry too much right now. I'll probably get more diligent when i start working out. 2 months post op! Pics

Congrats on your surgery! So happy that everything turned out well and you're on the losers bench! I was sleeved 10/5/16 and as far as i know have lost 38 lbs from day of surgery. I feel like I'm a slow loser too but keep telling myself so long as its trending down and i do what I'm supposed to it'll come off. Just stay positive, your doing great!???? 6. Definitely contact a gynecologist. But i had the same issues. For years. I thought it was a fluke that the last time i lost a significant amount of weight in a short amount of time i got my period two months in a row. Now i realized that it was my weight. I've been off birth control since 2 weeks before my surgey. I've had a period every month since. The timing has been a little off but pretty consistent. Before this i needed birth control to regulate my periods. So for ME i think it was mainly my weight. Ask your doc but i wouldn't worry TOO much if you're going to be losing weight. Your cycles are probably going to be out of whack for a bit and you might get a regular period after losing a bit of weight. Only time will tell. Sent from my SM-G925T using the BariatricPal App

    Bursitis and Sleeve

That's a dream to me right now. I don't think I've been talking to the right doctors. I need some guidance. I was thinking of waiting until i drop some more weight. Maybe evaluate myself every 20 or so pounds? I feel like if it doesn't improve in another 20lbs I'll talk to my gp about it and see what she says. But is there a specific type of doctor i should consider seeing just in case? Sent from my SM-G925T using the BariatricPal App

    Weight lost

I can understand the overwhelmed feeling. I've been obese my entire life. The last time i was this weight i was in Jr high. Mind you i was about 2 to 3 inches shorter and 210lbs (im 5'2). So yeah. To think I'll be under 200 for the first time since high-school and get even smaller is a bit crazy to me. I even find myself self sabotaging because the idea that I'm going to look like a different person is so scary. I've never been good with change. It takes me so long to adjust to anything. My family keeps telling my how much weight ive lost and how small im getting and its a lot to take in. Im not used to a lot of attention so it's hard to accept. It's just something we will have to take a day at a time. Im trying to get into the habit of taking pictures so i can see the changes. Im also going to talk to a professional. It's hard making changes but over time I'm sure it'll get easier dealing with it all. Sorry for the story. Just wanted you to know you're not alone. ???? Exercising

I could start working out a month out but i havent started yet. I get dizzy spells and am plain lazy. I try to walk as much as i can but the hip pain makes it undesirable. I think I've lost 38lbs in the 3 months since surgery. I feel like i could have done better. Want to get to under 200 by my birthday Jan 7th. Im 210. I don't think it's possible. But I'll sure try Sent from my SM-G925T using the BariatricPal App

    Bypass or band !

I've seen loose skin on the face. It seems to usually happen to those who carry a lot of their weight up top and in their face. If you are super heavy or carry A LOT of weight in your face then you'll probably have lose skin no matter how you lose weight. My family doesn't seem to think I'll have as much skin as i think i will, but i feel like I'll have a good little bit. One thing is no matter how i lose weight i feel the extra skin will be there. I've been obese my entire life. Even tho my highest maintained weight was in the 260s, Im 5'2. I dodn't stand a chance lol. And that's ok. If that's what I'll have from losing the weight i want to lose, so be it. There are worse things in life. And i can get it removed if it bothers me enough. So long as the pay off in return is a better more active life, no more pain and no more diabetes I'll take it???? Sent from my SM-G925T using the BariatricPal App

    Bursitis and Sleeve

I've been having hip pain for several years. Im still not entirely sure it's my hips but i can't think of anything else it could be. What does it feel like for you? For me its very stiff and painful. The front of my thighs at the top near My groin hurts so much. It makes me not walk and not want to. I don't know if it's bursitis. I have a bad back and sciatica so it could be anything. Id love some insight tho. P.S. i have been sleeved since 10/5/16 lost 38 lbs so far. I have good and bad days. I've lost over 50lbs overall (pre and post op). I haven't noticed a big change in pain just yet. I suffer from chronic back pain so I'm on the look out for pain reduction as my weight goes down Sent from my SM-G925T using the BariatricPal App

    Dear Fairy Godmother or Santa...

I have basically the same body i did at 17 in terms of shape and size. Im actually a few lbs lighter now than i was through most of high-school. Working my way to my lowest high-school weight which is my first goal. Still obese but better lol???? Sent from my SM-G925T using the BariatricPal App

    Bariatric Eating

This scale is affordable and accurate. I have been using it for 1.5 years. Bariatric Eating

Can i just say i love the idea is this thread. I haven't had money to get a kitchen scale so i have been using the few measuring cups i have and just eyeballing things. Taking my time and trying to feel out cues for when I'm close to full so i can stop. It's still hard almost 3 months out but its coming along. Still having trouble with timing and how fast im eating. How long does it usually take you guys to finish a meal? I try to get it all in by 30 to 40 minutes. I have no real idea how much im actually eating which makes me uncomfortable. Didn't mean to hijack just been really scared with my eating since im eating solids for the most part now. So many questions, i need a wls buddy lol. Sent from my SM-G925T using the BariatricPal App

Anyone have a plan or way they take their pills? I have huge calcium pills im nearly terrified of taking. Im lucky if i remember my chewable multi. How do you guys do it? I'm really struggling with everything???????? Sent from my SM-G925T using the BariatricPal App

    My Fingernails are Growing

Mine have been growing too. They would barely grow but if they did they were always soft and bendy and hardly ever grew above my fingerb tips. But now they grow faster and harder and stuff. Still chip and break like before but not as much or often. Sent from my SM-G925T using the BariatricPal App

    Delayed menstrual cycle?

It's common for a woman's cycle to be thrown off after surgery. I was on birth control for several years and stopped/ ran out 2 weeks before my surgery. Before wls i was only regular with my with birth control. But I've been without it about 2 months and have had my second consistent period (tmi). The first one was about a week late i think of what it should have been, but maybe 2 weeks or more after surgery. But when i stopped the pill i expected to not get one for a while since that's what always happens for me. But im going to monitor my cycles more closely now to get a feel for them post birth control. Until i find a more permanent solution. I wouldn't stress it too much if there is no way you can be pregnant. Just make sure you're getting what you need and plenty of rest. That and maybe ask your gyn if it's really worrying you. Need motivation!

I was sleeved 10/5/16. I was cleared to work out. But im scared. I suffer from chronic pain and stiffness so just walking is very uncomfortable/ painful most days. I try to get some walking in everyday and try to make my walking goal on days im out and about. But it's hard to be motivated when moving hurts so much in general and energy is always low. Not trying to feel sorry for myself just giving the facts lol. But i totally understand how you feel. Sent from my SM-G925T using the BariatricPal App

    BM caused terrible nausea!

I couldn't stop going during my pre op diet. Now i barely ever go. And I've thrown up before while having a movement. It usually happened if i held it too long and it made my tummy hurt. Sent from my SM-G925T using the BariatricPal App

    Disability Pre-op

Thanks for the heads up. I think im going to give it another go. Im just hesitant because i feel like if i could lose enough weight I'll be ok. At least that's what my doctors all tell me. Even though I've been dealing with chronic pain and everything else for years now and its only been getting worse over the past few years. I feel so broke down. I just hope all the hype of losing weight to fix my pain is real because I'm only 29. This is my last ditch effort. I really just want to work and get my life back.
