I'm good, still like you in a bit of pain but it's manageable. I stopped taking my pain drugs a couple of days ago. Only managing 30grms of Protein a day but doing really well with Water. Think I need to start doing some walking now that the pain's okay. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Brisbane Sleevers - less than 1.5 weeks till surgery
Jobey replied to Jobey's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hey Nat I'm doing okay, still have some pain from my 2 right side incisions and a bit of bruising. Went out for the first time today, which was nice. Also brought some pumpkin Soup, tomato soup, yoghurt and juice as I'm hoping the variety will help a little. Had enough of chicken broth lol I not really fussed with food either but am struggling when my family have dinner as I still want to sit with them for the socialness of it. How are you doing? Oh and I've lost 13kgs so far including my 2 week pre-op diet Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

I was so excited when she told me I didn't have to do shakes lol, don't get me wrong, it was still hard and the portion sizes were smaller than I was used to but at least it was real food. I really never fathomed how many carbs and sugars there are in foods till I had to pick everything up and look at the labels. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I didn't have to do a liquid pre-op diet instead I did no carbs, no sugar, protein high diet. I tried to find a yoghurt but they all had way too many carbs and sugars Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I'm 5 days post op and I think I just miss the idea of food I don't think I'm hungry, but it is really hard to tell the difference. I'm also finding sitting down with my family to eat really hard, cause I love the smell of what their eating but I know that eating real food at this stage can actually cause serious harm. I think that part of why I'm feeling this way is because until you can't participate in the ritual of eating you don't realise how much you miss it. I'm so looking forward to the baby food stage only 8 days to go yay Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Thanks guys, think I've figured out how to make my food diary public. So let me know if you guys can see it? For all the pre ops, my NUT let me do a no carb, no sugar, high Protein diet and I lost 16.5lbs pre-op if you wanna have a look at what I was eating She also told me that it's important to have fat in your diet so then your body doesn't go into starvation mode. Okay, so woke up feeling alright in recovery. They gave me 2 anti-nausea drugs, pretty sure I kept drifting in and out of it cause I was there for like 3 hours. When I came back to my room I vommitted a couple of times. Which was scary and weird. My surgeon said the vommitting is normal as long as it's not all the time. I felt to weird because I used to be able to feel this giant stomach contract and now I feel nothing lol. Am really struggling to get Water in and keep it there but am still on a drip so should be okay. Any suggestions for how to get fluids in and keep them there?? Oh and don't feel hungry at all which is awesome Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Hi, I don't know if this is anything other people think about but here goes. How do you single gals out there deal with explaining scars and your new body to somebody new?? I used to be pretty confident before my epic weight gain and now I'm wondering if you choose to tell a new man in your life or if you lie?? I have no intention of jumping into anything for quite a while, but eventually would love to. I broke up with my ex about a 1.5 months ago when I had some other medical issues and he was unable to be supportive and turned out to definitely not be the person I thought he was. Feel like I'm walking around with the best secret ever!
Jobey posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hey, I was wondering if anyone else feels like this?? I live in Australia and until a couple of months ago I have no fricking idea what bariatric surgery was!! I'm pre-op, having my surgery in 4 days (excited and nervous) and I feel like I'm walking around with this giant, awesome secret. Even though I would never do this, cause it's rude. But every time I see someone who's obese or overweight I want to tell them about it and I keep thinking about a number of people I know who have dropped a fuckload of weight in the last couple of years and have maintained it! Do they know about this secret??? Does or did anyone else feel this way??? Or am I just a weirdo?? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
