4LoveOfLife - I received a call from the insurance company Friday with good news and an approval confirmation code. Now the wait is on to get a surgery date... :-)

It's been four months since I made the decision to have my VGS. I've been to the psychological evaluation, been through the standardized four monthly visits with the dietician and physician, now I'm waiting and praying for insurance approval. I'm optimistic about posting results soon. Thank you all for sharing your stories. Currently I'm 300lbs at 5'10 and my goal weight is 200lbs. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Thank you FMoore2004, I received the call from BCBS today! I'm now waiting for my surgeon to schedule me! Thank you so very much for your encouragement and kind words. I was very concerned and anxious DSLdiversity

Thanks for the encouragement. I received a call today from BCBS, I'm approved!!!!! Waiting to be scheduled with my surgeon. Pray it's sooner than later. I'm ready for a change! DSLdiversity

I like you am a BCBS client. I only had to do four moths with NUT. My paperwork is at BCBS so it's the waiting game. Let's both be optimistic and get ready for change DSLdiversity

Reading all these posts help. I'm lap waiting a second time. Untried for approval in 2013 and was denied. I then did Herbalife, became a vegan, and lost over 70 lbs working out religiously. However due to injuries from the military and other things (gunshot) to the chest, I'm up to 300lbs. My physician submitted my paperwork to the insurance company on May 22,2016 so I'm expectantly waiting for a date! Thanks again for inspiring hope DSLdiversity

I need your prayers. I have blue cross and Medicare. The doctors office told me that MediCare is fine because I met the requirements and completed the four month dietary program, but I'm waiting for an approval from blue cross. Great to hear, I have a very similar story. I had my band in 2008 and have been suffering since and now I'm 50lbs heavier than when I initially got the band. Man we have the same story! lol. I'm waiting for insurance approval for my procedure, fingers crossed... PhDiversity
