    1/2 a cup? I don't think so...

I was banded on Feb. 6th, and I feel the same way you do! I feel like right now I can pretty much eat normally, as I was pre-op. I guess it's the lack of restriction because of not having a fill yet, and that I hadn't been eating large meals before anyways (for the past 6 months or so at least...I lost 50 lbs in the 6 months leading up to my surgery.) I'm going back to see my surgeon on march 13th for my first fill...I feel like that date can't come soon enough because I feel like I'm not making much progress at the moment. I'm grateful that when I met with the surgeon for my post-op follow up last week he cleared me to return to physical activity, going to the gym, going skiing, etc., so hopefully that will help me out in the meantime!! It's comforting to know that I'm not the only one struggling during the first few weeks after the surgery, I was starting to wonder if it was just me and it just wasn't going to work!
  2. I didn't have staples or stitches at all...just the steri-strips which stayed on for about a week. (I think they might have used glue to keep the wound closed initially.) I'm 3 weeks post-op today, and my incisions are almost completely healed...I had 5 incisions total, 4 tiny ones and one larger one. There's just a little bit of scab left on the big one...I'm ready for them to be completely healed so I can start using some scar fading cream to help them go away as much as possible! :smile2:

    Getting Banded 2/27/08

Good Luck tomorrow! I'm sure you'll do fine...my surgery was on 2/6/08 and it wasn't nearly as big of a thing as I had worked it up to be in my head. Try not to stress, and just take everything one step at a time!

    question about pain meds

I had my surgery on 2/6/08. I don't remember what they gave me in the hospital immediately after I woke up from the surgery...something strong for pain and something for nausea although I really wasn't nauseous. I went home not long after...I was only in the hospital for about 6 hours total. They gave me liquid Oxycodone...needless to say I did a lot of sleeping once I got home! I used it a little bit the first few days, mostly at night, and then started taking advil during the day if i needed it.
