Becoming afraid of reading this site!!
tinamclew replied to pati-o's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
So does anyone know the actual percentages of slippages and erosions? I'm kind of feeling a little like Pati, getting a little scared of all this info...I really was under the impression (according to my doc & my research) that complications were soooo rare... -
Hi! 13 days post-op for me also. Can't wait till tomorrow night. Think I'm going to try some mashed potatoes first...Never been so excited over some darn potatoes!! I've been really lucky, no problems at all, not even the gas people speak of (thank goodness!!). I feel like I'm ready to move on, soooo sick of liquids..I'm totally ready to be a little bit full. I've been about to STARVE!! Tina

Today's day 8 for me and I'm feeling fine. No pain at all, but I've really been careful. Really hungry all the time. I had some egg drop soup today that was the most wonderful thing I've ever eaten!! Get out there, liquid-phasers, and get you some egg drop!!

Hey, where did we get Lisa from? Isn't it DeLarla? Just wondering....

So sorry for your loss, Lisa. It's an incredible emptiness coming home without your baby. I recently lost my 10yrold Boston Terrier, Murrie, to lymphoma. I did have to have him put to sleep, and it was the most peaceful passing imagineable. He died in my arms, which was his most favorite place to be. Kudos to you for having the strength to let your baby go in peace...He was lucky to have you as a mom... Tina

Looking for November 2005 Banders!
tinamclew replied to bostonfatgirl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hey Amy, I'm Tina in Alabama. I was banded on Nov 22nd by Dr. Avara in MS. Feeling great here, and also not sure how to use this site, could use some tips myself. Give a holler anytime you want to chat. I've just had liquids so far, some Lipton Cup-o-Soup (yum-yum), pudding and lots of Jello and Water. I've really not had a hard time at all. No pain meds at all, just some Tylenol on day 2. (I was scared to swallow the pill!!) I love to get messages and share my thoughts so gimme some feedback... -

So glad everything is going okay. I'm to be banded Tuesday and was really interested in your experiences immediately following surgery. Can't wait to join you all, wish the actual procedure was behind me, though. I'm new to this forum and not sure where to put my posts, so I'm putting them all over, hoping for a response... thanks for any input..

Newbie here considering lap band
tinamclew replied to Bruce Peter's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi, I'm to be banded on Tuesday in MS. Dr. Avara. Anyone with any experience with Dr. Avara? I've got a bad case of the nerves and was wishing for any thoughts or experiences involving immediately following the band procedure. That seems to be where my major concerns are at this time... Thanks for any help at all... -
Any info About Dr. Caylor in Foley,AL?
tinamclew replied to jpadgett1's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I know this is old, but I've decided on Dr. Avara in Ocean Springs, and I'm to be banded on Tuesday, 11/22....Any thoughts or experiences with Dr. Avara. Self-pay at $15,000 at Surgery Center.. -
Hi, everyone. I'm in Thomasville, 90 miles north of Mobile, AL. I'm scheduled to be banded Tuesday in Ocean Springs, MS. I decided to go with Dr. Avara. I had a consult with Dr. Caylor in Foley, AL and was very impressed, but decided to go with Dr. Avara because he has performed so many, nearly twice as many as Dr. Caylor. Has anyone had any experience with Dr. Avara from Oceans Springs, MS? Lots of nerves here, any encouragement???
