The struggle is real - I get so sick of hearing that the surgery is a tool... but is is very true I would postpone only so you can get " more ready" for success once the restriction is less and more reliance on your food choices I know where you are now - and if you go ahead, I can guarantee you will lose some weight- but if you truly want to get to goal weight - you may need to get more control over food choices Can I ask if you are walking or doing any activities while on

Egg & Cheese Bites recipes- Delicious protein!
jersey0601 replied to The New Kel's topic in Regular foods (stage 4)
Ok - I have done something wrong ... twice. My eggs in the muffin tin really puff up and then deflate - but not in a good way . Maybe the whole milk vs half / half ? I also halved the recipe ... love the pic but not my actual outcome Welcome back to scrambled eggs for me -
Hubby says " you aren't the one that has to be attracted to you" ..., WHAT?

Anyone have lap band out/sleeve in one surgery as outpatient?
jersey0601 replied to Allie1958's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi Allie - I can say that for just the gastric sleeve procedure, I was in the hospital for three days.. I have seen varying stays for the procedure - but was very glad I was in the hospital having someone watch over me for that duration My surgeon liked to make sure I could keep fluids down and I did the barium test. -
Good protein powder?

Best blender/food processor for pureed food?
jersey0601 replied to ChaosUnlimited's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I agree with the other poster that what you have is fine for the 2 week period of puréed foods... unless you want an excuse to get a food processor ! My NUT advised not to eat baby food because it will not help you meet your protein needs . There are slot of options for puréed foods ... -
Can't seem to find a protein bar I can stand
jersey0601 replied to jbaker5d's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
They have tuna fish in packs ( so a to go food) I also drink bi-pro choc shakes - they are really good ( they don't have that sickly sweet taste) I haven't found a protein bar with enough protein that I like without too much sugar / carbs - I find I need to get my calories from food -
The obvious for me is not needing a seatbelt extender. That takes alot of fear from traveling i also enjoy shopping for clothes In A STORE !

My doctor lied to me
jersey0601 replied to Samia toufik's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
You were 185 when you had the procedure done / attempted ? Is that why it was self pay? You dont have to answer really, just curious good luck -
Sgc- followed your progression and agree with a previous poster - your journey is awesome ! Maybe instead of thinking that group activities are not your thing, try it . What is the worst thing that will happen ? Set a goal to go to an event and talk to at least two people . So, You will hang out in the back and leave early ... Part of your journey is to try new things!!! I have to say that i think your eHarmony emails are great... I wish you alot of success !

A year out.... so what are you eating ?
jersey0601 posted a topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
So I am 11 months and am in a six month stall - not as dramatic as it sounds because I'm not eating what I should ( but not gaining, so yay for me ) . I am really busy at work and don't really have a lot of time, but need to add some variety Any ideas of simple foods to eat? What are your examples of lunch or dinner ? T -

jersey0601 replied to jersey0601's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Thanks.. will check it out too .. Your " plan" is pretty simple - no fruits or anything else, huh. You have to love simplicity. I can see that in most of your posts too . Thanks -

Hi outsidematchinside! I have enjoyed reading your comments for some time. Are you still tracking food or do you feel it is pretty easy for you now? I know you have said you don't have a strong relationship with carbs - I'm not so lucky. I had read someone indicate they have kept their carbs to under 20. - I am thinking to try that - I haven't ever had a target like that - so I'm going to try it -
Who did NOT loose hair or much?
jersey0601 replied to Rita48's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I was super strict with protein and lost a lot of hair . It never looked bad, just annoying. At 11 months, my hair has grown back in, which is actually more annoying to me ( the fly always). But rather have fly aways than no regrowth . -
My a1c when I started was also 11 - prep for 6 months and a1c down to 7; was able to go off insulin and cut Metformin dose in half After 2 months post op -a1c to 5 and off all meds ... But note the dr would not do the surgery until blood sugar was under control Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

There was also hoagie gate - but the poster only ate a foot long in one sitting .... Ahhh good times Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

... I think some can handle diet coke, coke zero, etc ... but I think #the candidate was talking about people like me . I quit diet coke habit before surgery (in January) but still have cravings . That tells me I cannot handle even a little bit . I wish I could because I enjoyed DC a lot . But for now - I have to keep the DC monkey away ... but straws are nice Sent from my SM-T530NU using the BariatricPal App

Help... I really need to poop
jersey0601 replied to blu2020's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 3 1/2 months and am struggling with this too . My surgeon said no laxatives because your body can become dependent. I'm adding more Water and Fiber .... hope this helps Sent from my SM-T530NU using the BariatricPal App -
I am not sure if this will come out right, so here it goes. I am wondering about the honeymoon period I see people referring to as related to the sleeve. If your stomach ( with the sleeve) doesn't stretch over time- why is there a honeymoon period where you tend to lose the bulk of your weight ... or is that not true ? I recently read a thread about a Dr who told a patient not to eat bread, rice, Pasta, etc during this weight loss time/ honeymoon period and I was wondering why just this time ? Why not restrict these foods longer ... does this question make sense ? Sent from my SM-T530NU using the BariatricPal App
