    NESTING PRE SURGERY

I have got through a bunch ( BUNCH) of clothes I keep in bins ( previous sizes ) and my closet which has clothes I wear That fits and some that are 10 lbs away that I cannot wear .... I got rid of three full bins of clothes I have always hated but kept hold of because I thought I needed them And then I washed all clothes from 28, 26 and 24 ( only favorites) and put them in my closet , ready ...... It was awesome . I cannot wait! It was better than thinking about eating or worrying about my 5 yr olds developing cough Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Any other June sleevers?

June 1 st ..... Getting close ... I'm working the weekend getting ready for surgery day HW 342 CW 302 SD ? It's getting exciting ...... Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  8. I'm on day 13 - the first three days were the most difficult , but i did done good things before I started pre- op: I gave up my favorite Diet Coke and weened off all caffeine and carbonated beverages; started drinking lots of Water and reduced sugar Something I should have done : I did not try out various shakes ... I bought a big bag of vanilla Bariatric Advantage and some individual strawberry - this brand is too sweet ... Because I'm diabetic , my dr allowed for milk and one fruit ... So I have been blending 1/2 strawberries and it has worked .... But I realized post op I cannot add fruit and blending ( at least initially) my cause additional gas .... So I have tried the shakes plain ( almost intolerable .... But it is an important 'almost') Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  9. I am pre- op, scheduled June first and have been reading a lot of forums, journals, etc. what we know is that sleeve has ~ 50% weight loss success ( give or take depending on literature) . I have tried to set realistic goals to lose that 50-60% weight and not a true goal weight. What I find interesting is quite a few on BP forums are at their goal weight. So what are the keys to success. Could one key be using and connecting with others on BP? Maybe staying on the path, staying aware of food is another....I plan to keep my WLS to my husband / myself .... So BP is a lifeline Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  10. Thanks @@AvaFern and @babbs...... I have followed your postings throughout my journey and I appreciate your advice ....thanks! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  11. I am on my two week pre- op liquid diet and I am struggling to choke down the vanilla shakes ...any advice? I have switched from Water to milk and it is slightly more tolerable Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Workout regimen-What's yours?

Question about starting exercise .... Might be silly : Does it get easier with a little weight loss to start or is it always " hard"( satisfying when it gets over but still hard... At least that is the way I feel now) . Was hoping that carrying a little less around with me might benefit my start ( surgery day is June 1 st ) Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  13. Just nervous I guess, but what if I stick to the 2 weeks Protein shakes and lean protein dinner and my Liver is too big still ? The surgeon says some people do wake up and ask how things went only to find out the surgeon didn't do the surgery due to a heavy liver ..... I am adhering to the meal plan .... Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  14. I'm June first - I have lost 15 lbs on the liver diet - one week left I am surprised there is such variation between Drs . Mine is 2 weeks of Protein shakes (x 2) and one small dinner ( with more protein) .... Kinda wondering why I don't have to do Clear liquids day before Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  15. I am adding a little more milk and blending a little ice and strawberries .... So great, I can drink them all - but after surgery I won't be able to increase liquid or add fruit .... Just worried . I really didn't think I would have any trouble ( I can eat / drink anything which may be why I am readying myself for surgery) I guess I should have paid attention to NUT and tried different shakes before I need them Ok, that is all ( hee hee) Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Carbonated beverages

Bellabeans - I agree , it is so hard . I quit cold turkey when I first started my surgery journey - DC was a trigger for so many other issues ( salty night eating , etc) .. I had such horrible headaches and I miss DC almost every day --- but best decision to cut it out Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  18. Mine was 4 months - from my last surgeon visit- I was approved in 1 day with all the pre- requisites met Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  19. Thanks - I will try some variations - I have lost 10 lbs in 4 days --- which I'm not excited about actually . Just hungry and miserable Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
